Fetch TV

Fetch thinking they can charge $1000 for a DVR is maddening when that’s their only point of difference to the smart TV you’re probably plugging it into.

According to my Fetch tv guide, 7 is showing the Voice UK tonight

If anyone has a series record or anything just double check

And they want to charge a subscription fee for this sort of incompetence.

Today, my Fetch Mini lost connection to my Fetch Mighty (for no particular reason) and I couldn’t use it until I restarted it.

Another EPG clanger: they’ve scheduled the wrong country’s Voice. Thanks @David.

The Voice UK is also listed on YourTV.com.au (part of Nine).
Any other online TV guides I could find listed either The Voice or The Voice Australia.
So perhaps whoever provides data to YourTV also provides it (badly) to Fetch?

Mentioned two posts above.

2 new included channels now on Fetch

Fuel TV (Channel 164)

Dedicated to the world of action sports. Watch live global event broadcasts, original shows, and films covering surfing, skateboarding, motocross, BMX, and snowboarding.

COPS (Channel 147)

The iconic, non-scripted series following camera crews embedded with American law enforcement officers on daily patrol.

I have lost access to my recordings on Fetch this afternoon. Accoeding to the email they sent out recently Gen 3 users had until 31 October to subscribe to Fetch channels or sign up for a further 12 months use. Why have they switched off access early?

I chatted to their bot which wasn’t very helpul but it it suggested they might have had some sort of outage.

Did a restart twice and came back to it again now and I have access to my recordings again.

Wait what? IIRC the US version got converted to FS2 unless this is an IP resurrection?

Why would an outage cause the recording to go missing? Normally when they have dashboard issues or connectivity issues the guide and apps don’t work, a lot of the dashboard loses functionality, but you can still access the recordings.

I have no idea but that’s what their chat bot told me. I’ve now lost access to my recordings again. Something is going on. They may be testing out how they will remove access for Gen 3 users.

Do you have a credit card on file. I don’t see how/why they would cut you off early given you no chance if you wanted to pay extended service levy. I have been subbed to the sports pack (vibe I think) but are cutting it off. as I got bein connect for 2 months at $9.99. Interested to see if I now get a email or they try and force me to pay the $30

I haven’t updated it to my new credit card which I received a few months ago. I rebooted again yesterday and got it to work again. I think something must be going on behind the scenes while they get ready to cut people off permanently.

It will be interesting to see how many people abandon Fetch although we’ll probably never know. It doesn’t look like they will reconsider this action. It might hurt them in the long run.

I have a fetch mini that I bought mini. Would this affect me box? I have t had a subscription to their channel packs for 6 months.

It affects you if you have a Gen 3 box and no Fetch subscription.

I posted the info here:

If you have a subscription, then you won’t be affected. I only have a Gen 3 but because I’m on a basic level subscription, I’m not affected.

I have never received a letter because I was a subscriber at the time. I am letting my subscription lapses (so I will not have a subscription) because I have a cheaper option for the next two months. I was questioning will they come after me, or let casual subscribers who dip in and out alone

Do you have a Gen 3 device or newer?
