Federal Election 2019 - Media Coverage

I think ABC NC has already changed their federal election background loop. It started out as a nice grey blue but it’s now a lighter blue. Melbourne appears to be using the original which is much nicer.

Sigh.

Quite like this graphic used by TVQ

Interesting “your vote” branding for tens coverage.

Also PVO interviewed both leaders on tonight’s news.

Gosh all of Ten’s election branding is shocking. It’s like they have reused the same crappy template for every state and federal election since 2007. Clashes horribly with the actual news graphics and brand.

Chris Reason stating that the suburban Sydney seat of Reid was always Labor until the last election when it was won by the Liberal’s Craig Laundy. No context from Reason of course, as this is 7 News. Reid has moved east out of the traditional Labor strongholds of Auburn and Granville into more affluent areas like Strathfield and river and harbourside suburbs. That’s why it changed parties at the last election and is now a marginal seat.

10 has the worst election graphics

Looks nice! I just hope that 7 are consistent with their branding. They have used ‘Your Call’ in the past but in 2016 they used something different and then used ‘Your Vote’ on election night.

The backdrop behind Fergo looks good with Parliament House and some red and blue lines. Would be good to see that on election night.

Front page of tomorrow’s Herald Sun, first edition:

Mark Knight’s cartoon was dropped from the front page for the second edition and replaced with the photo of British police dragging Julian Assange from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London after his arrest. The cartoon is on page 6 of the paper’s second edition.

Cheeky?

IMO, that’s probably the strongest lineup of presenters/reporters/analysts the ABC has had for an election campaign in quite some time

They could just have Antony Green and his computer, and I’d still watch.
