Same graphics were used until 2013

I just hope he puts in a better performance than what he did for the NSW election coverage.

Those graphics were used in 2013, however there was a different graphics package (and easily the best graphics package Ch7 have used for an Election) for their 2010 coverage.

Seven went all out in 2007. The previous election 2004, they only provided news updates (presented by Chris Bath) with regular programming shown during the evening.

I know that in 2001 Roy & HG hosted 7’s coverage from the Tally Room with Chris Bath on the panel providing updates (The Nation Dumps). I thought this happened in 2004 as well but I’m sure you’ve got a better memory than me!

Roy and HG were actually good in 2001 building on the success of The Dream during the Olympics the previous year

Yours truly did some research on this a few years ago. Seven aired Toy Story 2 (which appeared to get more viewers than Nine’s coverage!) and Die Hard 2 on 9/10/2004. Seven’s 2004 Federal Election night coverage only consisted of a brief update between the two movies + a 30 minute special after Die Hard 2.

But getting back to this year’s coverage, you’d think Seven will most likely use Mark Riley & Michael Usher on May 18?

They’d be crazy not to. The recent NSW election was probably the best presented coverage they’ve done in a long time (not perfect, but definitely an improvement on the last few elections).

Don’t like the idea of having two ‘leaders events’ (for lack of a better term) being held in the space of 5 days - they really should be spread out across the campaign

Usually the Sky News/News Corp People’s Form is held on a Wednesday as in the past. A National Debate at the NPC in Canberra should be scheduled on the weekend of 4/5 May

Sky News broadcast details of People’s Forum at Brisbane next Friday, May 3 (all times AEST)
4.30pm Speers
5.30pm The Countdown featuring The Courier-Mail federal political editor Renee Viellaris
6.30pm People’s Forum moderated by David Speers
7.30pm The Verdict hosted by Paul Murray

According to Shorten’s press conference just now, he hasn’t rejected the offers - he’s just hasn’t accepted them yet.

News Corp could put the Sky News debate on Your Money if they wanted to then it would be on free-to-air in all capital cities except Hobart and Canberra.

The Sky News debate will also be shown on Sky News on WIN in regional areas which should include Hobart and Canberra.
