Looks like Wendy’s is launching big in Melbourne.

3 - 4 stores are expected to be open by years end.

Mark Levy told his listeners on last Thursday’s show that he had settled the debts he owed to people affected by Pronto’s liquidation. As quoted in The Australian’s Media Diary:

“All creditors who came forward have received 100c in the dollar … a total of $674,119 has been paid,” Levy said.

“I want to thank all of the aforementioned creditors for their understanding and their patience while the lengthy process has run its course.”

“I don’t harbour any ill feelings towards those who have reported on the demise of the business and fully understand they are doing their job.”

Hobart’s eastern shore will be getting it’s first Hungry Jack’s after decades of rumours that a store would open. It will join a new KFC and existing McDonald’s at the site.

It will join the 5 existing Hungry Jack’s in southern Tasmania.

After almost 10 years, looks like it’s time again for a global brand refresh!

Back in April on Reddit, updated versions of the wordmark and Colonel Sanders illustration were briefly spotted on KFC’s brand guidelines page on their website, though has since reverted to the previous:

Today, KFC Australia debuted their new ‘Boxfull Range’, and its ad campaign from what I have seen, is the first example of its usage in any case worldwide, as it has not taken effect in the US as of yet!

When I saw the new logo a couple months back, I pondered the fate of the ‘FLG’ branding since it was created with the current branding from 2025 in mind…

It would appear KFC has taken the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach, as the acronym and ‘:index_pointing_up::mouth::+1:’ symbols are nowhere to be seen, replaced by the traditional “finger lickin’ good” tagline:

A new abstract bucket symbol made up of the wordmark can be seen as well, this typeface is new too:

And it would appear this ad campaign is larger than one ad, based on their collaboration with Russ Eats visiting the ‘Box Lab’:

To conclude, interestingly just like in 2017, Australia will once again be one of the first markets to roll out new branding before wider adoption around the world!

“Go Full Chicken” is a weird tagline though.

It’s KFC not GFC. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

At least the bow tie doesn’t look like arms and legs anymore. The bucket with the vertical KFC’s looks odd to me.

Yeah I don’t like the new logo.

I like the new shape of the bucket but I would have kept the red stripes down either side, top to bottom.

Then I would have had a smaller Colonel Sanders and black KFC underneath. The KFC font is very fat now.

Go full chicken sounds like a lot of extender is used. if you’re over 40 and have a brain, I can see teenagers yelling go full chicken as a joke or to annoy people ,which is exactly what big junk wants. Let the consumers recite the quip and sing the jingle.

I tried to look at Russ Eats’ review post but discovered it had been deleted.

Odd! And a shame since that video was well made. Did notice the Boxfull Range is not listed on KFC’s website or social media yet, maybe that’s why??? :man_shrugging:t3:

But their promos betrayed you. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Parma Burgers and Parma Mozza Dippers.

Frugal Feeds now has an article on the Boxfull range.

We have a location.

Wendy’s has now told Yahoo Lifestyle the Melbourne venue will be at 1A Assembly Drive, Dandenong South, and it will open on June 24.

The location used to be a Carl’s Jr restaurant. It’s on the south east corner of Princes Highway and Assembly Drive.

Everything is a ‘cult’ these days. In ‘N Out probably deserves the label of a ‘cult fast food chain’ given the hysteria its pop up stores attract, but Wendy’s is pretty run of the mill.

Anything for clicks and likes of course

Starbucks stores across South Korea will shutter for half a day next week for staff to attend a history lesson following a promotional campaign gone awry, the coffee giant said on Monday (Jun 15).

Starbucks Korea, with more than 2,000 stores nationwide, found itself embroiled in public uproar last month when it ran a “Tank Day” promotion evoking a deadly military crackdown on a 1980 pro-democracy uprising.

The day of the reusable cup promotion - May 18 - coincided with the 46th anniversary of the Gwangju uprising in which 165 civilians were killed, according to the official toll, though many believe the real figure to be much higher.

Apart from a handful of stores at airports, Starbucks across the country will close early at 2pm local time next Monday (June 22).

KFC launched a new TVC today featuring the slogan Go Full Chicken. The background song is a remix of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up.

The sale will not affect Pizza Hut here in Australia, Flynn Restaurant Group has been owning the master franchise since 2023.
