Fast Food/Takeaways and Restaurants

Seems to be doing better in Singapore. I would expect them to expand into Asian markets more. Wouldn’t surprise me if Thailand and Indonesia are on the cards.

McDonald’s is launching five new menu items next week, under the World Menu Heist theme.

Would be nice but my nearest outlet is on the Central Coast.

The two that were in the Hunter have both closed down. One is now an Italian Restaurant the other is a shopping centre kiosk that has disappeared

As long as they keep the Kirk’s Lemon Lime and Bitters its actually quite nice but it seems to be a McDonald’s exclusive unfortunately.

Red Rooster and Four’N Twenty are collaborating to bring back the chicken and gravy pie, as part of a $10 chicken pie box meal which also includes small chips, one piece of crispy fried chicken, and regular potato mash and gravy. It’s available from now until June 30.

Tried a couple of items from the menu - the Philly Cheese Stack from the UK, plus the Garlic & Black Pepper Nuggets from Japan with the Special Edition Gold Sauce from the USA.

The Philly Cheese Stack was a standout - gave off Double Quarter Pounder vibes and was really solid. The Garlic & Black Pepper Nuggets were also great, especially paired with the Gold Sauce.

Overall, some really good additions and a fun way to try products from around the world.

This week got a reminder that SubCard was ending at the end of August. Any credit on these cards after this date would be forfeited. End of June is the last day the Cards can be used to accumulate credit. Interestingly I very rarely get asked if I want to use the credit I have, especially when I want to use it on my travels (and I’m not going to be rude and tell the young kid on the register I’d like to use my credits unless asked).

Well, you should ask. It’s not their job to ask you. They don’t care whether you use them or not. The business would rather you did forfeit them. It’s a cost saving for them.

I’m not waiting for a confused look on their face when I ask them about it, usually in customer service it’s the operator who is trying to sell to the consumer, not the other way around.

Maybe order in the app? :man_shrugging:

He’s asked himself the same questions repeatedly: was Chicago the right city to launch the US venture in; was the real estate strategy right; should it have launched with different products? Marks has owned the Mexican-inspired restaurant chain’s hyper-ambitious, and now failed, six-year gamble on the $643 billion market in the world as his mistake. “I’m highly critical of myself,” he tells this masthead.

When pressed, he’ll skim over the details. If he could do it again, what city would he have picked? What should have been on the menu instead? “I don’t want to share that because some of that will come alive,” he says. “I gotta keep that up my sleeves.”

“Pulling back now gives us the opportunity, in the years to come, to give it another crack,” says the former Wall Street hedge fund manager. “If it’s the right situation, the right model, [if] it’s the right time for GYG, you never know. “The US is a market that I know one day we’ll be successful in. That’s really it.”

I don’t think anyone on the register is going to find you rude for this?

Depending on how successful they are in Asia, I wouldn’t be surprised they enter the North American market again.

Yes. The bistro at my local club/pub has a rewards scheme for food and drinks purchases. They never asked me about redeeming the points. So recently, I decided to ask about the points and to my surprise I had accumulated enough points to pay for our two meals and two drinks. :open_mouth:

I was actually 5 cents short, but the guy taking the order said “oh, I think we can do something about that” and removed it from the bill. So, in fact they cheerfully went out of their way to help me, which made me happy and ensured I returned.

Wendy’s told Yahoo Lifestyle it will open a new store in Melbourne, but did not reveal the exact location of its third store.

Australians are already speculating a variety of suburbs including Bayswater and Dandenong South.

Wendy’s is giving 300 Melburnians a chance to try the iconic brand at a “walk-thru’ pop-up before the doors officially open.

The burger chain will be giving away its classic single burger, featuring 100 per cent Australian beef that is “fresh, not frozen,” and a Coca-Cola on June 10 at 11am.

Melbourne folk love to line up. Just open the store already.
