They seem to be going very strong at the moment.
I do worry they are expanding way too quickly. We have seen this happen before.

That’s true. Their share price was up around 46 bucks at one stage. I’m trying to think of other outfits that have expanded quickly, and you’re right we have seen this before.
Any that you can think of, off the top of your head? All I can think of at the moment is Carls jr maybe?
The problem with massive expansion so quickly is keeping the consistency and quality in check.
You’re probably right.
I only really go to People First Stadium. Went three times this year and yes - one size (s) $6.50. Bought one each time I went and fortunately because there were only small crowds there each time, no queues before the game.
Interestingly I do go to the VFL at Brighton Homes. Three sizes available there. $6.50 for the grandé.
Starbucks when they first entered the market. went massive, opened stores everywhere but didn’t understand that coffee is not something we grab and go on the way to work. its a social activity
According to Phil Rothfield in The Daily Telegraph, Mark Levy has decided to close his restaurant Pronto, located at Sylvania in Sydney’s south, to concentrate on his 2GB mornings show. Pronto opened in mid 2024.
More likely because it wasn’t a great restaurant. I’ve driven past that restaurant many times and it’s always empty.
Not necessarily not great.. Some good restaurants just suffer from poor promotion, or just be a bit over priced and/or be in the wrong area, have too much competition etc. There are a lot of reasons why they fail apart from being ‘not great’.
He could have just sold it.
The site is very interesting. It used to be a Mike’s Grill for many years but it closed after a fire. Mike established the restaurant there in 2004. He also had Mike’s Seafood on the opposite side of the Princes Highway at Sylvania. That was awesome for casual dine-in and take away.
Mike has gone on to establish more than 11 other restaurants in RSL and other clubs: Brighton-Le-Sands, Ramsgate, Cronulla, Sutherland, Engadine, Mortdale, Bexley, Gymea, Riverwood, Baulkam Hills, Greenacre, Fingal Bay.
But if he couldn’t make Sylvania continue then I’m not sure who can.
I got an instant win $500 Westfield gift card on a large fries about 15 years back. The rigmarole just to get the prize took weeks, and in the end they didn’t even send out the gift card
Plus you can’t claim for yourself the ones you find on the ground
The deal will appear under the Rewards section of the MyMacca’s app, but only for restaurants located in the winning team’s town. For example, if the Brisbane Lions win, the offer will be unlocked at participating Brisbane outlets. If the Geelong Cats take the premiership, it will be available at participating Geelong restaurants instead.
The Wendys build in the Brisbane CBD is progessing well - wendys signage is up and talk is that it will opeing at somepoint this month
So this will be the third store? I’m assuming the Melbourne (Burwood) one is almost complete?
from what ive seen it will be neck and neck between bayswater and Brisbane to see what opens first
That’s the first time I hear of a Wendy’s restaurant in Burwood.
7news reported in early September that the first Melbourne restaurant would be located in Bayswater.
