Fast Food/Takeaways and Restaurants

You have that Newcastle legend Henny Penny, though. How are they faring these days?

Chicken Treat is as WA as quokkas and spearmint milk. Little brand recognition over east, where that other quick chicken option is strong west of the Red Rooster line (Chicken Treat briefly had a store in Eastern Creek, not sure if there were others).

I haven’t had it for ages!

There aren’t as many stores around these days, but their chicken was only ever was just okay, I always preferred KFC or Red Rooster.

Their website hasn’t been updated for a while, still says trading hours might be affected by the pandemic!

Newcastle legend. Well and truly.

And the prize for best fries at a franchise…

Cafe 69

Yes, the ram raid into Nando’s was bizarre but won’t change the chain’s “no cash” policy.

The team’s first major sponsor

Last night while travelling to Sydney for the BBL game last night we had pit stops at the twin servos. First time we’d been there since Hungry Jack’s had taken over. I have to say i was far more impressed with the cleanliness than it had been under McDonald’s

Henny Penny was also the first ad aired on NEW FM when it launched in April 1989.

I stopped going there towards the end - it was rank. I found the facilities at the adjoining Ampol much better

Is there any news on the new twin servos further up the M1 starting?

I haven’t seen any signs of construction near the Morriset Interchange on the M1… I assume it will be pretty close to that?

Edit: Looks like it’ll be about 2km north of that.

I believe its closer to Cooranbong - there is a decently sized industrial development on the eastern side of the Morriset Interchange

I didn’t know that.

The most misspelled place name in Australia for mine.

Morisset (Alanis doesn’t help).

Isn’t that ironic, don’t you think?

Or the Toowoomba legend Super Rooster.
