The media strategy leverages key talent across podcasts, radio and the Nine Network’s Today Show to kick off conversations across the nation. Listen out for Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel’s reason registry on the Nova 96.9 Drive show, where they will be asking the nation to call a Macca’s Hotline to share their weird and wonderful reasons for a Macca’s Run as we hear from Aussies around the country.
Inspired by the widely-popular TV show, the Squid Game Meal includes 10 Chicken McNuggets served with a limited edition Korean BBQ Sauce, Macca’s fries and a drink.
The meal also comes with an additional treat that allows customers the chance to truly immerse themselves in the nail-biting world of Squid Game and put their skills to the test - thankfully without the dire consequences.
The treat, of course, is a Dalgona Candy.
Craveable has swooped on former Carl’s Jr sites in Perth. Chicken Treat has opened up at Piara Waters in a building originally constructed in the Carl’s design.
It looks like Oporto will take the Carl’s sites in Butler and Tapping.
Thank you for that update.
Think I might go to Carl’s for lunch today. Worth the drive to keep them alive.
Unfortunately, my childhood Red Rooster at Ballajura City Shopping Centre in WA was reported by the Health Department earlier this year, and recently became insolvent a few months back, leading to its permanent closure, after more than 30 years of trading.
The signage appears to have only recently been removed.
Bit of a waste, as they had only updated it to the modern style in late 2022, after years of a hybrid between the 1990s and mid 2000s for several years, as the original Drive Thru sign had still been maintained, despite the main restaurant sign being updated around 10 years ago:
Rumour has it according to my long-time hairdresser, and a few people within Ballajura community-related Facebook groups, Chicken Treat are apparently in discussion to move in.
It was reportedly meant to have opened already, though due to more repairs needed within the building than expected (given it’s one of the more older styled Red Rooster restaurants), it will instead happen within the new year.
Its expansion would not only help to fill a void of where the nearest Chicken Treat is; 10 minutes away in Landsdale, but I honestly feel it would help to kick off a resurgence of activity at the Shopping Centre too.
God forbid any Perth resident live more than 10 minutes from accessing chicken on demand.
Hah, I used the closest Red Rooster in comparison (Malaga) as a reference as there was a point in time where Chicken Treat locations were becoming far and few in between several years ago, as many of them were being converted into Red Roosters and Oportos.
It’s nice to see a resurgence of the brand, after they sought to revive their relevance once again.
one of the best reasons to fly virgin to perth is to get off the plane and theres a chicken treat right there.
7NEWS has exclusive details on how much more we’ll pay for food and drink at the footy.
The MCG is raising the price of beer but keeping the cost of some fan favourites on hold.
A standard 425mL beer goes from $11.50 to $12.
A bottle of water is up 20 cents to $4.90.
In the members’ section, a 560mL cup of Carlton Draught goes from $14.50 to $15.
MCC general manager of commercial operations and partnerships Tanya Gilling said the rising cost of potatoes, chocolate and alcohol is biting.
A Hungry Jacks has recently taken over the former Carl’s Jr site at Greenvale in Melbourne’s North.
15 bucks for a carlton draught is pretty rough. I wonder how much for a decent beer…
Isn’t red rooster and chicken treat virtually the same thing?
They are owned by the same parent company (Cravable Brands), and while it is said they use the same cooking equipment, Chicken Treat offers a much better product in my opinion than Red Rooster’s in recent years.
Their chicken salt seasoning for the chips is superior, the portion sizes are better, and the coating from their more flavourful rotisserie chicken sticks to the chips, which is a bonus. Their crunchified chicken is also very good imo too.
This Facebook page chronicles the gradual rise, fall, and revival of the chain in a cheeky, but humorous manner: Old Chicken Treats
That’s good info. We used to think the same about our product over here too. Until it got gulped up by the West.
Mmm, Chicken Treat sounds tempting.
Though looks like they are WA only.
Being in the east, I might have to Wait Awhile.
They had a couple of stores in Sydney in the last few years but have since closed.
Chicken Treat/Red Rooster is similar to how Kmart and Target used to co-exist with some slight variations until Target started going down the cheap Anko route.
Speaking of humourous, the dessert burger looks schmicko.
It was $11.50 for Great Northerns at the Gabba for those wanting to watch rain last weekend
