I don’t see how a price rise for beer at a stadium is that important. Prices go up all the time. Why is this one so important?

I have the same thought reading the constant updates of specific item prices in the supermarkets thread.
As well as the price of Bort licence plates; their extreme scarcity is a bellwether for inflation.
Is it the same as reading creepy, obsessive posts about Rob Brough?
All those prices make me want to do a Subway, HJ’s or Maccas run pre match and eat on the way. It’s not like the Cricket where you’d struggle to last a whole day’s play without needing a feed.
Maccas don’t start coffee til 4am…. Ridiculous it should be a 24/7 item! Just went thru 4 maccas looking for coffee at 3:30am…… what are you supposed to do on the way to the airport!

I’m famous for my subtlety.
I think this is one of those things that is arbitrary store to store - likely that store doesn’t have a barista / someone who vaguely knows how to operate the espresso machine until 4am.
I’ve definitely picked up coffee at maccas between Midnight and 2am before.
That’s what I liked about the old Hungry Jacks setup before the Jacks Cafe stuff - it was clearly ‘coffee machine’ coffee - but that meant a level of consistency that didn’t depend on the quality of the operator - so grabbing one late at night was no different to during peak.
McDonalds through doing it for so long are at least usually consistent enough, but I wish all the other places didn’t feel the need to copy.
Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium will introduce new technology in mid 2023, allowing fans to pay for food and drink without waiting in long checkout queues and get back to their seats as quickly as possible. It works by fans using their credit, debit card, or mobile wallet payment at entry, collect their items, and leave the store without having to wait in line.
That should be their slogan.
I’ve seen this elsewhere, I genuinely had assumed they were just selling the burger fillets, not these tiny little tenders. It’s ridiculous for the price and not sure how they managed to get through product testing.
I got six tenders for $6.95 at KFC the other day. No way I’d pay $14 for five, from HJs of all places.
Pretty sure they had a very similar jingle on their ads years ago. (Nobody does chicken like KFC)
I tried them three weeks back, and felt the same. They were more like tenders.
The ads and imagery implied the boneless Jack’s Fried Chicken would be crunchy, but they were similar to a breadcrumb texture.
I later realised they were on par with their chicken nuggets, so what applies as crunchy at KFC or Macca’s for example is different than at HJ’s. They tasted okay and fine for a quick snack, but a little plain.
They did, from the late 1990s to early 2000s. I went down a rabbit hole watching all a lot of their old Australian ads a while back, but the most memorable slogan to me was…

(And yes, ‘Can’t Beat That Taste’ was early 2000s…I remember the ads playing over and over during the cricket).
