Fast Food/Takeaways and Restaurants

Wow what a shock! The hundred year old trick is only discovered now?

It depends how small your eyes are! Everything looks smaller (and fuzzier) now that I’m older!

Or maybe their burgers are smaller because they are purposefully cost cutting and they just look mpre disgusting now. :stuck_out_tongue:

The fast-food brand partnered with Australian artist and Kamilaroi man The Kid Laroi to create his McDonald’s order: a cheeseburger with no pickles, medium fries, medium frozen Coke and six-piece chicken McNuggets with barbecue sauce.

The meal will launch on the 26th of May across all national McDonald’s restaurants.

Yet another less than exciting famous meal…

I know right? Unless you’re allergic to them, who has a cheeseburger without the pickles?

Me.

I take them out… every time.

Standard Operating Procedure going forward as McDs globally are discouraging LTO and non-standard menu items. A long way away from what they were trying to achieve 10, even 5 years ago.

McDonald’s pickles are pretty meh so don’t add much.

I only eat Chicken burgers when it comes to eating food from MacDonald’s the whole pickles thing doesn’t apply. None of their burgers ever are of the same quality as a good Works burger from the local takeaway.

Just found out that OMI (Japanese food) and KZO (Korean food) had launched a joint outlet at the food court at Emporium Melbourne. Both OMI and KZO are owned by the same group but it’s unusual for the two brands to share the same space.

Hard pass. :face_vomiting:

Mmm. Cabbage burgers.

KFC notified customers that it will use a blend of lettuce and cabbage throughout its restaurants

Ooh, shandying up the lettuce - sounds appetizing

If KFC has lettuce shortage, then McDonald’s will face a similar problem too.

Less so I would think - McDonald’s core burgers don’t use as much lettuce, Quarter Pounder, Cheeseburger, Fillet O Fish, etc are lettuce free. While KFC don’t have any burgers that default to no lettuce.

KFC also seem to be the only chain that goes all out with the media when it comes to these announcements.
While I don’t doubt that the shortages are real, they do definitely try and get some PR goodwill out of it.

When I went to a Hungry Jack’s drive-thru a few nights ago, they had signs up saying that due to the recent floods in NSW and QLD, they may not be able to provide certain products without specifying which ones exactly.

I can confirm Taco Bell is also using a lettuce/cabbage mix. There’s no notification on the self serve screens when you order. Only noticed signage above the counter after I’d ordered. You can guess what the ratio of lettuce to cabbage is. Wasn’t worth the detour to grab that Crunchwrap Supreme for lunch today.

Big Mac is a core burger of McDonald’s, and has two layers of lettuce, so I think it will be most affected.
