That takes me back to the 80s when they last had it in NSW, it was my “go to” for family outings to Maccas.
I don’t normally eat fried chicken pieces these days, but I would have it (just once) for old times sake if it came back here.

I read it was a replacement for the new chicken burger range that is currently available in the rest of Australia.
Speaking of, the McParmy seems to have vanished, along with the McVeggie and the McFeast. There used to be bbq and spicy chicken clubhouse burgers until relatively recently too.
Seems the only chicken burgers left are the McChicken, McSpicy, Chicken and Cheese, and the Grilled or Crispy Chicken Deluxe.
I prefer KFC’s chicken offerings, but still a shame to see Maccas reducing theirs.
McParmy was always meant to be available for a limited period.
Several media articles from the time of the launch refer to it as a permanent menu item. Here’s one example
Guess the sales weren’t there. It wasn’t a bad burger, but seemed as though every time I got it they went overboard on the sauce.
I just find they are unnecessarily expensive. If they positioned the McChicken a bit lower down - then there’d be more room for a ‘premium’ chicken burger - similar to how there’s the obvious gap between a cheeseburger, a quarter pounder and then the angus stuff.
Shame if the McVeggie is gone - that tasted quite good.
Went down to the lavington red rooster and new owners have taken over and want to expand the store to try and get more customers and are also going to get the new fried chicken
Exactly this. The McChicken should be $4 like the chicken and cheese, they’re basically the same burger except sub out the cheese for the lettuce and vibe versa.
The premium offerings are also generally overpriced compared to HJs and KFC, the McSpicy at almost $9 is just a rip-off pure and simple.
wait, is the BTS meal not on UberEATS?
I got it on DoorDash.
Personally I don’t understand the hype over this BTS meal from Maccas. It’s pretty much just your standard 10 McNuggets meal just with different “Limited Time Only” sauces, isn’t it?
As for BTS themselves, I probably would never have heard of them before in my life if it wasn’t for that controversy (+ associated outrage on Twitter, etc.) over a poorly thought out segment on Nine’s 20 to 1 a couple of years ago…
Noticed Menulog doesn’t have it, although can’t say I’m surprised. I honestly have never seen them put the limited offers on Menulog, they don’t even have half the drinks.
Ubereats pays McDonalds (or at the very least provides promotional goodwill - ergo free delivery) for this sort of exclusivity.
There also used to be a Krispy Kreme at Macarthur Sqaure back in the late 2000s. The Krispy Kreme at Woodbine is now an Oporto and it was next to Sizzler which when it closed last year was the last one in NSW.
Yes, there was even a “Dalts Report” on Nine News Sydney for the closure of Sizzler Campbelltown in November last year.
It’s funny because I’ve heard that Maccas got rid of their popular 24 nuggets for $9.95 deal for the BTS meal.
Pretty sure something like an Iced Chai Latte wouldn’t be exclusive though. They just don’t have half the menu. Not even the smoothies that they introduced a few months ago, no frappes etc…
I believe in this case it’s because there’s no mechanism for McDonalds stores to report to Menulog that an item is unavailable - therefore anything that’s prone to breaking or going out of service (shakes, frappes, smoothies) isn’t offered at all, whereas I think they can signal to Ubereats when specific items aren’t currently available.
I’ve noticed similar with HJs launching on deliveroo in recent weeks - the menu is limited in a similar way.
McDonald’s Australia chief executive and managing director Andrew Gregory told The Australian’s Global Food Forum yesterday that the company planned to open around 25 more full-service restaurants across the country a year. He added that McDonald’s wanted to open 40 new restaurants a year nationally in the next couple of years.
