I thought by now that WIN would carry this channel on Channel 84.

Yes, i am traumatised too. I seek comfort knowing that a logo is always in the bottom right corner of the TV. It’s all of ever known.

Obviously must be raking in some coin for Nine for them to keep it on air.
And for people to be still be buying stuff off it! (must be a whole lot of Darryl Kerrigans out there who think they’re getting a bargain off Extra and end up stuffing their purchases in the same cupboard as their jousting sticks never to be seen again).

These channels are run by marketing companies. Is very easy money for the likes of Nine to rent out part of their spectrum and in the case of Nine, do very basic playout.

When I last saw Extra on Thursday while in Sydney - it was indeed broadcasting Global Shop infomercials w/o the Extra logo. That’s just my observations.

I’m not sure if it’s from WIN buying NBN and Nine Darwin and they will keep running the channel on those stations or if WIN will relaunch Extra in regional areas soon but there is a page of Extra on the WIN Television website which I find a bit interesting.

Was added back when WIN added Extra as part of their short extension of affiliation with Nine before SCA took over.
