Extra actually went away about two years ago, shortly before “Your Money” was launched!
So if anything, it’s probably surprising that the channel didn’t return in May or June 2019…

Ahh, so it did. Forgot about Your Money!
Forget primetime - there’s finally some decent late-night programming to watch!
I am surprised Nine did not follow the lead of their regional counterparts Southern Cross Austereo by carrying SBN (Sonlife Broadcasting Network).
Regional viewers are going to be pissed when they realise SCA Nine won’t be carrying the channel.
I’m guessing that leasing a metro multichannel would be substantially more expensive than leasing a regional multichannel?
SCA already has a channel with exactly the same content - Aspire TV!
Ch87 on NBN
So NBN aren’t yet carrying 9Rush (as far as I’m aware anyway) but are more than happy to run Extra in-line with the metro markets?!
So, the only channel ‘free’ within 2 digit LCN range for Nine is now 98… Then they’ll have to start using 3 digit LCNs allocated between 950 and 999.
Money talks.
[insert witty Ayr reference]
They’re obviously in no Rush
They can get rid of redirects.
eg. reuse 91 that is currently a redirect of 9, free up 93 or 99 (both 9Go).
Just checked out 87 and 97, it’s a blockfest at the slightest hint of motion.
Yes, the redirects don’t make any sense if they’re the same service.
They can also use 99 which I’m sure is no longer the primary GO! LCN.
Funnily enough, I always use 99 if I watch 9Go!
ditto. I have hidden 93 from my channel list as a duplicate
98 saved for Extra 2’s long awaited return.
I think the redirects are just trademarking the channel so no other company can take rights to the channel number…
I doubt it. Nine already has exclusivity over all LCNs between 90 and 99.
