The Australian Eurovision artist is being revealed March 6
Just ban them for this year! Netanyahu is just as bad as Putin with his invade mentality and before anyone says the artists (singers) are not to blame neither are Russiaâs.
Interesting. This might end up being the ultimate reason to not include them for breaking the rules, rather than outright excluding them because of the current situation over there. As Iâve said previously, I think itâs best for the competition that they just donât participate this year and I wish they had just withdrawn. We donât need this cloud of controversy and politics overshadowing the competition.
It will be there either way, Luxembourgâs singer has Israeli roots and her brother is currently fighting as part of the IDF and the major favourite to win Icelandâs national selection is Palestinian.
I think Israel should withdraw this year. But thatâs not in their mindset unfortunately.
Are there any rumous The Veronicaâs could be this yearsâ pick? Their new single is a bop.
The main rumours seem to be Danii Minogue or Dami Im again. Have also been hearing whispers of Ricki Lee (artist annoucement for Eurovision is on the 6th and she is having a one night only concert in Melbourne on the 10th) + Tones and I.
Iâve also heard Electric Dreams. They also donât have any gigs booked around Eurovision time.
Danni and Dami have both pretty convincingly debunked those rumours. So unlikely to be them unless they are majorly deflecting.
Pretty sure I saw Ricki-lees new album releases that week too. It seems all too aligned to not be her and a track off her album.
Iâve always wanted Veronicaâs to do it but if it were them, then they probably would have waited a couple more weeks to release their new track.
Thereâs also the rumour the vic government are providing an artist grant, so if thatâs the case it rules out a lot of rumoured names
After dates in Europe, Eurovision on Tour is heading to Australia in November. Tickets to Sydney are on sale, but I canât see tickets to Melbourne or Brisbane are yet.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday 6th March, itâs time to announce who will represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden!
The Eurovision tour sounds a lot of fun! Iâm definitely keen on going.
I can see Ukraine are the early betting odd favourites to win. Do they actually have a good song, or is this a case of early betting favouring them due to the ongoing war (and a lot of songs not released yet)?
Alright song + sympathy voting, the hype for the song seems to be dying down with each new release. Croatia has now overtaken them in the odds.
We donât have that many more songs to go, after tomorrow there will only be 7 songs left to be released- 6 if Israel gets banned.
I was set on Ricki-Lee as a lot seems to align next week but her new song samples Kiss âI was made for loving youâ so I think that would rule her out? I believe itâs a new song but features a couple of lines from the chorus which probably goes against Eurovision rules. She releases her album next week but doubt she would be releasing a different song now if she was participating. Which is a shame as I think sheâd be great.
Starting to think itâs going to be a random person that hasnât been heavily speculated , possibly someone that previously entered Australia Decides (like last year).
The top two songs widely tipped to represent Israel have agreed to review their lyrics to ensure participation this year.
Think theyâll have to change the name of the song too. If it has October in the title thatâs likely to still be a problem
I believe the song has been re-titled as âHurricaneâ.
Interesting that the hot favorite to compete for Iceland was a Palestinian who was born in Jerusalem, however the Söngvakeppnin contest came down to a public vote and the winner ended up being Hera Bjork. She previously competed in Eurovision or Iceland in 2010. Iceland will confirm in the coming days if they actually will participate (due to previously threatening to leave due to Israelâs participation), however she is saying that she plans to compete.
