Correct. I personally have only once seen an episode repeated with Grant as the host, around the start of Simon’s run. I don’t think the more recent 7two repeats have been anything but Simon. Maybe now that Grant isn’t hosting anything on 10, they can/are happy to show his episodes?

Fond Memories of watching Wheel of Fortune with Rob Elliott and Sophie Falkiner in the Early 2000’s. That’s when i used to know Dinner is almost ready. Hehe.

I always thought John Burgess was the best Wheel of Fortune host.
i was watching some old eps of sale of the century on youtube and thought it would be nice for it to make a comeback as well

If it was to come back it must be on Nine. It wouldn’t work if it was on Ten.
Temptation would be a good fit for a 6pm game show on 10.
Won’t rate. Nothing rates for 10 in other time slots let alone 6pm.

Sale of the Centry was quite a slow format if I remember correctly and it is very similar to Millionaire Hot Seat so I am not sure how it would go now. I’d like to see Wheel return however with John Burgess as host.

Sale of the Century and Millionaire Hot Seat are both centered around general knowledge (albeit in the case of the latter at least, often infused with cross promotion and/or product placement) quizes.
Apart from that, I don’t think there’s a great deal of similarities between the two shows.
I miss Temptation. I’ll admit that I did go down a rabbit hole and watch a few Temptation episodes on YouTube during one of the lockdowns last year. My boredom must have reached an extreme level!
Realistically, it would probably flop (either Temptation or Sale) if it were revived. But I would watch it for sure!

You can’t blame Nine for dumping it when Two and a Half Men repeats ended up doing better in total + demos.
The only way I see it getting revived is if Hot Seat’s ratings get really bad in the future, and even then I suspect they’d do it on the cheap compared to the old days.

Burgess is current based in Perth on radio station 6iX.
I miss the usually fast paced “Sale of the Century/ Temptation”, and have always wished it had comeback. But sadly, times have changed, and can’t see it returning anytime soon. Especially in its traditional 7pm slot. Would it work leading into the news? Perhaps? But Seven and Nine dont seem to like 30 minute gameshows these days.

I miss Sale Of The Century too. Use to watch it in my Parents Bedroom as the Lounge TV was on Home And Away back in the 2000’s. I read somewhere that Channel 10 currently has the rights to Sale Of The Century (and Wheel Of Fortune - another classic i miss.). There were even talks of a revival back in 2018 when 10 was looking for a replacement for Family Feud but that of course fell through.
