Disney+

Those type of shows are not going to be added to Disney+. Disney have said from the beginning only family friendly content will be streamed on Disney+. In the US they have partnered with Hulu, which will stream Disney’s more adult shows.

What is not family friendly about Home Improvement, Black-ish, Fresh off the boat… they’re family sitcoms which air in early evening timeslots, not exactly dark content… and that statement is a bit hypocritical of Disney given some of the dark themes in the MCU and Star Wars universes which they have no problem showing… the trailer for the mandalorian has the heads of stormtroppers on stakes in the ground in the opening shot…

Welll they should license “adult” Disney/Fox to Stan or Australian Netflix. Can’t be bothered with Hulu and VPNs.

That might be the long term plan. I think it’s interesting that Stan is acting like they’re not too concerned about losing all their Disney content recently. Could they have some sort of agreement to show other Disney titles in the future once they are no longer associated with Foxtel, 7plus, 10play etc.

Based on the content, I wouldn’t be too concerned either - I see myself still spending more time watching Stan and Netflix to be honest. The content in both locations is more suited to an adult audience.

Disney for me will be great for the original series surrounding the MCU, of which I enjoy watching plus looking forward to getting stuck into the Madalorian over the weekend. But in terms of other content its largely focussed to children and I’ve seen every Star Wars movie, MCU movie and don’t see myself watching them on endless repeat.

Simpsons is a big draw for me, but I own Season 1 - 17 + 20 on DVD so it’s kinda there to watch whenever I want already :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’s still on Stan.

Hulu will eventually come to Australia, there will be a bundle for hulu + Disney

The app is severely missing key features that are so basic it isn’t funny.
It’s a nice interface to navigate through but no tracking of what episodes you’ve watched or to pickup where you left off is something that is really bothering me.

You can do both of those things on the app.

If you have Apple TV the Apple TV app tracks this well.

The Disney + app on the Apple TV doesn’t. It also hasn’t transferred over to the app on my phone for example I watched both eps of The Mandalorian via AppleTV last night but my phone app hasn’t acknowledged that.

Yeah but on the Apple TV you go back to an episode you watched and it remembers where you last were.

SBS on Demand also doesn’t have any record of what you’ve watched which is annoying.

Are there gift cards for Disney + available anywhere?

They haven’t even got the original Lizzie McGuire. How did Stan retain that, isn’t it a Disney show?

Wow Gordo still looks almost the same in 15 years.

True it does remember where you left off.

Agree SBS tracking isn’t wonderful but it is there… and they’re forgiven because it’s free and the content is great.
