And how about the same happens in the ex-SCA 3-agg regional TV markets too? Currently Nickelodeon in e.g Wollongong is in MPEG-4 SD. Kinda just like the metro markets. Awful.

An hour late lol but I can confirm 10 comedy in Melbourne is now in MPEG-4 HD on my TV. :tada:

Likely a bit programming dependent, but took a 5 minute sample in Melbourne, 10 SD is a lot lower. This is just the video in case these arenā€™t apples to apples:

10 HD - 5.7Mbps
10 comedy - 4.1Mbps
10 drama - 4.1Mbps
10 SD - 2.6Mbps
Gecko - 1.4Mbps
Nickelodeon - 1.4Mbps
you tv - 1.0Mbps

I thought their playout was internal up to this point? Might make sense if itā€™s an expansion on the deal they probably had to do to keep the ex-SCA Ten stations in there.

Secondly, CAN YOU MAKE NICK LOOK LESS HORRIBLE PRETTY PLEASE TEN?
Itā€™s painful to watch a movie when it looks like it was sketched in sand with the shocking bitrate.
10SD is unnecessary.

Nice to see a decent bitrate on 10HD, and a low bitrate on 10 SD to encourage people to blank-out the SD channel.

In Regional Vic, we donā€™t even have 10 SD, and nobody notices.

I wonder why they havenā€™t done these things in capitals yet! Possibly due to SCA owning them but now Ten owns them so they donā€™t really have an excuse anymore
