I think it’s time to Consider Nine and Ten to follow Seven’s lead and switch all of it’s Remaining MPEG-2 Channels to MPEG-4, Shall I contact Free TV?
they’d love to hear from you
That antenna is only designed to pick up certain frequencies - those of the main channels from Mt Coot-tha. It isn’t designed to pick up relays or nearby regionals that need a different UHF antenna.
That explains that then. Probably a good thing to be honest.
I found this in an op shop in Perth. An analogue video sending unit which operates at an order of magnitude greater transmission power than allowed by ACMA (138 milliwatts instead of 12 microwatts/0.12 milliwatts) and outside the allowed frequency range (UHF Channel 21/470MHz).
I still have one of those somewhere.
Bought it about 30-35 years ago.
They were a good little unit for the time
I still have Faith that Nine and Ten (Now with the Former SCA Stations), to Upgrade their Equipment to MPEG04 and Switch off Standard Definition Braodcasts.
Keep the faith
I want one
Have 7 switched to MPEG4 etc. in any other major capital city other than Adelaide?

Hey all - figured this is the most appropriate thread. Does anyone know how to connect an antsig antenna to an LG smart monitor with two HDMI inputs.
AFAIK I need a set top box (type you get from JB/Jaycar)
Hoping someone here knows how to do it as free to air is much nicer than using the streaming services and catch-up tv apps!
Cheers
Assuming your monitor is a PC one with no TV tuner then yes, you need a set top box from an electronics retailer like you said (around $50)
You just connect the Antsig antenna to the set top box, and connect the set top box to your monitor using a HDMI cable. Assuming your monitor also has in built speakers, you can get sound that way.
Is that what you wanted to know?
Yeah thank you for that.
Will it come up as antenna or HDMI input
You could also attach a PVR so that you could record programs.
On your monitor, you’d need to select the HDMI input you connected it to.
As in connect a PVR to the antenna or the set top box?
You get a PVR instead of a STB because you can use it as the tuner.
