Why is Port Lincoln bundled with Broken Hill?
Unless flying, Eyre Peninsula residents drive through the iron triangle, so wouldn’t it be more beneficial to know of their clients?

Does anyone know the exact transmission power of 10/10 HD Wollongong? I did a test 1-min recording of each of the Wollongong channels (on the TVCL DVB-T Webserver) and it seems 9HD Wollongong comes out as being the strongest, with 7HD Wollongong coming second. With 10 Wollongong completely wiped out, does anyone here know if the transmission power of 10 Wollongong is lower-powered than the other two? Cheers.
It shouldn’t be, perhaps they just might use a different antenna that outputs the signal differently, or be at a different height, or a different spot on the tower.
Received signal should be the same for all the commercials that are 250kw and same antenna height. Differences can result from the different frequencies (receiving antenna, cable, amplifier) though they are not much different.
There’s a report on Nine News Melbourne tonight about 50 years since the introduction of colour television
10 Late News had a similar gimmick last night.
Fair bet the 10 transmitter may have a fault - not uncommon to see unloved transmitters out there with multiple PA module faults. In some instances parts like MOSFETs can be hard to source, assuming anyone even does those type of repairs anymore.
Radiation Pattern from Knight’s Hill is as follows:
0 - 90deg - 250 kW max.
90 - 150 deg - 125 kW
150 - 270 deg - 250 kW
270 - 330 deg - 125 kW
330 - 360 deg - 250 kW
Worth noting that strong 4G 700 MHz mobile signals can interfere quite badly with UHF-TV if a 4G filter is not built into the antenna or fitted in-line with your antenna cable.
Telstra has never done ABC TV playout.
Current main ABC TV playout is from MHA.
And current ABC TV DR is internal at Ultimo.
ABC TV DR is moving middle of the year to Frenchs Forest.
How long has Ten HD in regional Qld been on channel 1? Isn’t it on channel 50?
It should be on 50. Where did you see it on Channel 1?
On the Sunshine Coast, 10’s main channel on 5 is still in SD.
In Toowoomba. I must be getting metro signal? Though I live far enough out of town that this has never happened for me.
You must be! That’s interesting that you haven’t seen that before then… are you getting Channel 9, 90, 93, 99 etc too?
No changes for the other commercial networks. Though I am getting two lots of ABC. I didn’t see this before but the 2nd tranche of ABC is on the 100 series channels
Not sure if this is of interest to anyone, but here is a USA equivalent (of sorts) of what we have for the My Switch site, so you can look up FTA TV channels in the USA based on location/zip code etc.
Just had a look and I still cannot believe the amount of content that is broadcast over there and most of it appears to be junk. Still interesting, nonetheless.
American TV is absolutely shit. If you’ve ever watched the news bulletins, it’s pathetic. Very little analysis, too much fear and alarmism and too many (mostly terrible, ads).
Australian or UK Freeview is on a different level altogether.
Agree on the ads, most of the ones i saw were for law firms.
But the news bulletins were okay, when I was in New Orleans, ABC, CBS and NBC all had rolling coverage on the Mardi Gras that was on in town at the time in their evening bulletins with interviews and it was quite good.
At least USA now gets a decent picture quality using ATSC, the old analogue NTSC was awful.
