Interesting choice of name for their midday show… The Hype.
Considering The Hype is an independently produced dance show currently airing on ARN regional stations on Saturday nights…

So does that have the normal Hope1032 programming on the “Christmas Hope” station name? Very odd…
According to this list from a tweet below, it appears that Hot Tomato will have a dedicated station playing the older hits, titled Hot Tomato Gold. No doubt it will have a similar music format to that of WS/Gold.
I noticed that last night that Sea is on Triple M and Triple M is on Sea. Someone got the feed the wrong way round
You’d think with only 10 stations they could make them more than 32kbps.
probably will be on launch day
The 4 stations on the Mandurah DAB+ with the exception of Kix Country are all unique to Mandurah (SEN, The Wave and Coast FM) and would value-add if received in Perth metro. Certainly I see 6 of the 10 stations the same as what would be on the Brisbane DAB+ (Easy, MMM, RnB, OLDSKOOL).
Any GC DAB+ stations which would be unique (a point of difference) to the Brisbane ones (in terms of either ownership or format)?
Probably Hot Tomato Gold.
Wait 11 years for DAB and it’s all 32kbps
Hot Tomato Gold is interesting, I wonder if that’s the same feed as the 7HO Classic Hits station in Hobart, or a unique music only variant of the Gold 104.3 playlist?
I’d be expecting Cada and Kix Country to join them - otherwise they should just bump to 64kbps. If they are instead doing something like EEP-1A or something, let’s hope that’s only a test while they check coverage.
Good to see DAB+ finally on air on the GC.
The 6 SCA stations are all very good and Hot Tomato Gold would be a good addition to the GC. Possibly a similar format to Gold in Melbourne?
The Radioinfo article has said that Cada will be available on the Gold Coast.

There’s iHeartCountry direct from ARN to add to the HT allocation.
Does Kix Country need to continue or reverse takeover of Kix program with iHeartCountry brand? What’s the content on iHeartCountry? I’ve never listened.
I’m reliably informed it’s in the pipeline:
KIX at least has some announcers and actual people selecting music, I think the iHeart stations are all basically automated.
KIX is a bit of a weird brand, but I’d certainly keep the station over the iHeart one.
Maybe they are leaving room for Listnr stations?
I can only hope they take some off that rubbish off the Hobart multiplex and give us back classic rock, easy and oldskool.
“Sunny Coast in the pipeline”. Interesting. That will give SEQ full DAB coverage along the coast and M1 from Gympie to Tweed.
Only if Gympie goes digital too. Nambour FM ends west of Cooroy, only present in some high spots of Gympie.
DAB+ would be more limited again.
Fair enough.
I’ll rephrase that to Noosa or Maroochydore to Tweed.
When I watched that video, I had thought that they would be using the ARN Regional Classic Hits playlist a la 2ST, 2EC, 2NM along others judging by what was playing.
Its a bit sad that Rebel Media were not able to put their stations on the Gold Coast multiplex, I guess that greed talks.
neither is the ABC at this stage.
