MMM 2000s in back up tape mode again today. Playing the same 20 or so songs on repeat.
A DAB+ station (albeit a short-lived one) that actually wasn’t too bad was iHeart Trivia.
I guess it was refreshing to hear a DAB+ station with a bit of personality. Sure it was voice-tracked, but at least there were plenty of hooks and it provided a bit of ‘company’.
Kube in the UK does quite well with their stations, running voice breaks that are jokes/celebrity gossip/monkey news and generic enough for all their digital formats. They engage in hooks regularly - ‘coming up I got a story about a bumble bee on a double decker bus, and a dwarf swallowed by a hippo’.
Music and ads gets a bit boring after a while - so depending on the DAB+ station, some ‘personality’ might just do the trick to increase TSLs. Personally, I quite liked the Osher and Yumi dynamic. I think they’d be great across KIIS 80s, KIIS 90s, iHeart Country, iHeart Dance et al.
