At first I thought that NZ must have decided to recommence DAB+ broadcasting with that misleading headline.
Not to be.

I like how the headline says Country music DAB+ stations launch in NZ and Brisbane. Wow! I hope Noel Leeming has stocked up on receivers. Good on the Kiwis for hopping onboard this white elephant technology.
That’s Gold!
Not sure if I’ve missed this one, but just noticed Pop UK on Brisbane DAB+. Anyone know who runs this one?
SCA
I remember in the mid 90s when Capital had a positioning statement - ‘95.8 Capital FM PURE POP’.
POM POP could be another name.
How about POM POP OFF and instead (More) POM ROCK!
Changes to Gold Coast station list.
MMM 92.5 renamed to MMM Gold
Chill Electronic replaced by Rock 101
Who owns Rock 101.
Clearly a response to Rebel FM in the market.
Another SCA.
It’s the introduction to rock for first year international students at Bond University. I like the 101,as play on the radio frequency, as with CFMI-FM in BC, WGIR-FM in NH.
Is it a response to Rebel in the market?
Yeah, you’re probably right.
Interestingly, Rebel claim they have 6% share in GC.
Interesting they haven’t branded this under Triple M.
I reckon they would be embarrassed to do so, as people would say why can’t Triple M actually be like this on FM.
MLS?
I wish Rock 101 was streamed at 128 Kbps. It’s locked at 64 Kbps.
Just wondering. In the history of DAB+ in Australia, when has the DAB+ broadcast of the same station differed from the terrestrial offering?
I remember a while ago in the first season of Triple M cricket listening to the call on 104.5 mHz and coming home expecting the same on DAB+, but they were playing music. I know there’s also been times when a Lions game has been on FM, and a Broncos game on DAB+. Similarly, ABC local radio used to have separate programming on DAB+ when ABC Grandstand was on their AM/FM channels.
Are there any other instances? Just curious.
So SBS have added a Eurovision popup station (I assume/hope it’s temporary)

The SCA stations used to have 2 feeds out of the studio - the first being for FM, the second being for digital, which included DAB+ and streaming. The digital feed (and therefore DAB+) would have alternate programming for anything they weren’t allowed to stream including live sports. I’m not sure how their setup has changed since then, but it’s obviously less of a problem now that they have the rights to stream their sports coverage.
Happens all the time, e.g.:
Also in the past
Brisbane and Gold Coast both got the extra SBS stream.
Back in 2017 from memory, KO had cricket commitments but also the first ever Supercars from Newcastle. We decided to run KO music/supercars countdown on streaming and cricket on 102.9 (as the contract stated main station). I used studio 1 for cricket (we didn’t trust the network back then because metro wasn’t on Zetta) and our local weekend jocks used studio 2 for local music/supercars countdown. Was fun. Our techs had a ball lol
