This is why I don’t listen to much music radio these days. Now that Triple M are playing the Backdoor, sorry, Backstreet Boys, that’ll do me!
surely the metro log isnt playing that crap
Just the regional log of Triple M are playing that type of unusual music that the HIT Network would normally play (ie Puff Daddy, Backstreet Boys etc), I often criticise the Regional version of Triple M for cross contaminating the music that HIT Network usually plays on their Metro stations (2Day FM/The Fox FM).
The regional Triple M’s were much more listenable when they took on the “rock’s greatest hits” format back in 2020. Still a few songs that were dial changers for me (Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel) but overall, much better than what it is now.
96FM playing Teenage Dirtbag… yeah it’s rock and probably fits in, but just surprised they’re playing it…
Recently heard RESPECT by Aretha Franklin on Triple M Newcastle 102.9 during the 12 countdowns of Christmas. Today’s theme being “Game Changers. A weird choice from the Regional MMMs if I say so myself, but hey it’s the regionals!
EDIT: Also played on the Metros a while ago!
Metro’s played The Wiggles hot potato this morning
MMM Regionals played “Can’t get you out of my head” by Kylie Minogue during their version of the Greatest Aussie Songs countdown on “12 Countdowns of Christmas” recently.
Absolutely Everybody - Vanessa Amorosi. 2NUR during their mornings program.
I don’t mind that one actually
Much better than the Amy Shark cover…
OldSkool 80s Hits on LiSTNR and DAB+ had two songs recently played back to back with the word “Dancing” in the title.
Dancing on the Ceiling - Lionel Richie
Dancing in the Dark - Bruce Springsteen
First I hear two songs a few weeks ago with the word “Don’t” in the title on Triple M Newcastle, now this!
Heard a great Brian Ferry song on Breeze this morning before 7am news. Sounded great!
According to Online Radio Box, it was “Kiss & Tell”.
I heard Triple M Newcastle 102.9 play “The Reason” by Hoobastank twice, 1st at 11:29 AM and half an hour later at 11:51 AM. What the?
No Newcastle specific music programming, no attention to deal, mistakes happen, product suffers, this is the outcome.
SCA board needs to accept the ARN M&A immediately.
Zetta has been known to be a bit of a jerk during Sunday automation just before midday. It used to add things out of nowhere just before going to the footy and none of us could figure out why. It used to annoy me so if I was there early for football, I would run the last half hour on “Live Assist” so I could massage the playlist and add or delete where needed to get to 12:00:00
wow, and I thought Spotify’s ‘Shuffle’ algorithm was bad with it playing the same song again 10 songs later.
Matchbox 20 , “3AM ‘ on 4BH yesterday ,WTF👎
Earlier today, I heard the 1990 Slow version of “Throw Your Arms Around Me” (from the Collected Works Compilation album of the same year) by Hunters and Collectors on Triple M’s Awesome 80s Friday via Triple M Newcastle 102.9. Surely they would’ve had the 1986 single version but it seemed out of place for the regionals to play the former version.
