Great song though. They don’t make them like that anymore.
Yes, they’ve been playing a few tracks from the early 80s… Last time I was in Port Macquarie, I heard Pat Benetar’s “Love Is A Battlefield”, and this morning heard Simple Minds “Don’t You Forget About Me” (again on 102.3 Port Macquarie).
The strange test signal 92.9 had Race against the machine , then Frank Sinatra My way. Now there is a combination I haven’t heard on radio before. I actually think it’s ok. But most people wouldn’t.
Yeah, 92.9 now can move into here for the next few days.
Live version of Pearl Jam “Alive” into Agadoo… some steps are a bit too far.
And in the last hour or so, Milkshake into Stairway to Heaven into California Love.
Just confused and yet slightly more sane than the regional MMM’s.
And it gets more confusing…
Addicted to Bass, The Wall (Parts 1-3), and New York, New York, all in a line on 92.9.
Power to you SCA. Give this a DAB format, please!
It’s like Jack FM… on steroids.
Now THATS Real Music Variety!
I agree, probably too varied for most people though, but it would be good on DAB… sorta like the old OMG… but more like WTF.
Someone at SCA must have been listening to my Sumo FM.
They’re just stunting - rare for Australian radio, especially corporates like SCA to be doing something like this though.
But even by stunting standards, it’s pretty impressive, compared to what could’ve been.
That Stunting. It’s not random enough to me. It kinda sounds like if BillyBob is in control of the station.
It’s funny that Perth (well, not everyone) thinks that 94.5 is Triple M!
It’s only been known as Mix for about the last 25 years!
Hotel California by William Hung on the Billy bob show
Burn for You (Ballad), Step Back in Time (Disco) and CHERRY PIE? (This was the summer of 1990 on Gold 104.3! Sometimes Gold FM would dig deeper for unusual songs.)
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-5) by Pink Floyd was played on MMM Melbourne yesterday at around 12:00 in the afternoon.
Certainly not outside of the rock format, but it’s quite broad compared to what they usually play. Sounded like it was from vinyl too.
That’s the sort of stuff they should play often
I meant to post this on the weekend
On Sunday, Hit regional played Candi Staton’s “Young Hearts Run Free” (1975).
First time I’ve heard them play a 70s song.
Clear someone’s been listening to our opinions on the 92.9 “stunting”.
Well done SCA.
I heard this song the other day on the regional s as well. I agree with @Brianc68 also, there should be more of this stuff on the M’s.
Footloose by Kenny Loggins played on Mix 106.3 today. Not strange at all, except it’s the first song in their current “mashup” ID, and that ID played after the song and the following Wilco Show segment.
