Did They Really Just Play That?

I still recall it getting plenty of airplay on FM here in Brisbane.

Yes, it was frequently played on i98 FM as well.

(i98 was my station of choice in 1994, along with a bit of Power 94.9…but I couldn’t receive the latter in stereo).

Apple Eyes. Swoop. 2NUR

I’ve noticed recently a subtle change to a more 80s and 90s playlist. Alanis Morissette was played a few weeks ago too

Heaven forbid if the playlist gets any newer than that!

I can’t be too old for 2NUR! :scream:

On Triple M’s “Almost Acoustic Sunday” via 2MMM Sydney, at 9:07 AM, they played Neil Finn’s cover of Martin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” which was originally performed on Andrew Denton’s “Musical Challenge” when he had his morning show on that station in the early 2000s. Kind of an interesting gimmick he had back then and Austereo did release three compilation albums of that segment at that time too.

Just heard “Crunchy Granola Suite (Hot August Night)” by Neil Diamond on Triple M Newcastle and Triple M Regional as part of Tuesday’s theme of names of the month in the song title. I may or may not be a fan of Neil Diamond but it sure beats hearing “Sweet Caroline” for the umpteenth time in a row.

Good Lordy!

In yet another episode of songs played back to back with the same word in the title, I heard
“Kiss the Dirt (Falling down the mountain)” by INXS and “Kiss from a Rose” By Seal on Triple M Newcastle (MMM Regionals) just now. Kind of ironic that it was played on Double Shot Tuesday with today’s theme being “Songs with the days of the Week in the title” with the song being “Friday on My Mind” by the Easybeats being the first one and “Blue Monday” by New Order being the second!
