Did They Really Just Play That?

My favourite Sharon O’Neill song!

And Jim Diamond had that huge solo hit in 1985 “I Should Have Known Better”, barely heard since…. maybe every one got sick of the constant “I I I I I, I I I I I, I I I I I” in the chorus.

Hey, I’m not ashamed of liking Milli Vanilli :joy:
Although I prefer Girl I’m Gonna Miss You.

‘Baby Don’t Forget My Number’ is my favourite of theirs.

Michael Jackson on All 80s Friday on Triple M Brissie.
Interesting after the push to switch to MMM with the originally thought axing of Robin & Kip before the backflip

Oasis Wonderwall played at the same time on Gold Brisbane and Heart Hits.

Heard Queen’s “We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions” at Woolies at Greenhills - East Maitland when I was doing my shopping earlier this afternoon, not as unorthodox as when I heard “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC at Maitland Woolies last year but they could’ve played one of the softer songs from Queen such as “These are the Days of Our Lives.” Still a banger though!

I caught the ARN regional and SCA regional Triple Ms both playing Cold Chisels “Flame Trees” at the same time tonight. I don’t think I’ve come across that before.

Also on Friday afternoon, Triple M NSW’s edition of The Rush Hour played John Denver’s “Thank God I’m a country boy” for their “More Music Fridays” where listeners could request a song that is pretty much alien to Triple M à la Triple J’s “Requestival” a few years back. Expect to hear some weird songs and deep cuts in the coming Friday’s.

Like A Prayer - Madonna

On Triple M “Nights With Dave Gleeson”

At #9 in the “Classic 9 at 9” Superbowl themed countdown (artists who have performed at the Superbowl).

They even played her live version from that event.

Gleeson said that they’ve never played Madonna on his show before.

Again, not on the radio, but when i was at the Maitland Show this past weekend i apparently heard “I Touch Myself” by Divinyls over the loudspeakers at one of the dodgem cars. Must’ve played one of the Aussie playlists on Spotify but DEFINITELY not a appropriate song to play at a family friendly regional show!

That’s nothing. If you ever see the Christmas comedy musical show called A Very Naughty Christmas, you should hear their version “I Touch My Elf”

I heard the J’s play Tears for Fears’ Everybody Wants to Rule the World on a Sunday morning while bandscanning on the balcony of the hotel suite at the Darling on the Gold Coast on one of our many trips up for obstetrician appointments in July 2024. I was quite surprised to hear it.

I really like your presets - Rebel, Breeze, River!

Personally I’d swap out Triple A for Bridge 99.7 depending on what part of town you’re in.

But dust that screen man

I knew I’d cop it for that :joy: I blame the angle of the sun, shining right behind me as I took the photo. Definitely not my lack of cleanliness at all

Bridge is too weak out here, it used to be there but since the site relocation it’s not worth it. The Triple A preset rotates between 98.9/102.1/97.3 depending on the mood I’m in

Good plan.

I’m in Morningside and Bridge was unlistenable for a while but just very recently it seems to be back as good as ever. They might have fixed some of the problems with the new site. 101FM from Logan is ok sometimes too and is on my regular rotation, as is Bay FM

Kyu Sakamoto - Sukiyaki (Ue wo Muite Arukou)

I have never heard this song on the radio before, and I have definitely never heard an entirely non English song on a classic hits station in Australia before
