Personally I have no issues with this song being played on GOLD but it barely just turned four.

I don’t know the context of them playing this one, but I feel like triple j have been sneaking the odd older track in a bit more since the Hottest 100 countdown. Obviously Bowie wouldn’t feature in an Australian Hottest 100 list, but I wonder if it’s just given them the licence to play things not just released in the last five years.

I don’t know if Double J has tweaked its format a bit- that’s where the real change needs to be. I don’t have a problem with JJJ targeting the youth as that’s what its mandate is.

I agree it’s what Double J needs to be doing, but I haven’t noticed any evidence of it. I’ve been sampling Double J since the Hottest 100 hoping this would be the case, but nothing. Just the usual random songs nobody has ever heard before. They just play an awful lot of novelty songs and silly crap imo.
