Tonight’s game was yet another $100,000 Loss!
And even though the contestant missed out on winning the $100,000, and ended up having $500. Grant Denyer offered the opportunity to spin the Deal Wheel to try and land on the jackpot of $20,000. She ended up spinning the wheel and increased her winnings to $1,500.
Honestly this Deal Wheel endgame is unnecessary to me. They shouldn’t play it if you miss out on winning $100,000. I can tell you all when I went to the filming session last Tuesday, throughout the 5 episodes that were filmed they didn’t play the Deal Wheel endgame.
Tonight’s episode the contestant took a deal of $38,000 when he got down to the last 3 cases and had $5,000, $50,000 and $100,000 in play. He ended up eliminating $5,000 and had $50,000 in his case. However Grant Denyer tried to get him to spin the Deal Wheel to try to get it to land on the jackpot of $60,000. Was never going to happen when there was only a 1 in 16 chance of landing on the jackpot. This Deal Wheel endgame is an absolute joke.
It’s a gimmick to keep the show fresh. Like other gimmicks, it probably won’t last long, so relax.
Jack - they are desperate for viewers and adding a new “Chance” element helps entertain during a lame predictable finish.
That is Not Very Good to Cause a Bad Accident During a Bathurst Stack, I Hope the Deal or No Deal Presenter Gets Better Soon.
If it did impact production and they bought in a stand in would be interesting to see if ratings moved at all. If anything bringing in Millionaire has now shown that both 10News+ and Deal are the problem with their ratings far lower than the programmes either side of them and 10 should probably looking at a new hour-long format to fill that 6pm hour.
Who would be available and suitable as a stand-in host? Rove?
Would they even bother? It’s a perfect reason to suspend production. The show isn’t rating and not worth the money spent.
We don’t even know if Grant’s injuries are that bad.
Grant posted an update a few hours ago (Monday evening) that he’s fine, and has already landed in Melbourne to film another weeks worth of DOND eps.
Phew! Now we can all rest easy. ![]()
I Watched tonight’s game, and the 1st time they walked away with absolutely Nothing.
I also watched the show (Tuesday night). The contestant had $1,000 at the end. He then span the Wheel of Fortune thingy, and it landed on $0. Ouch. But at least they were all laughing about it.
Even Grant said something along the lines of “everyone says, I came with nothing, so anything is a win. But this is nothing. Wow”.
10 said in a reply to a fan that this episode of DOND, in which Grant ripped his pants, would be shown later this year.
