At what point do they try this at 7pm? I feel like this would do better than The Project as a standalone offering at 7.
Probably for a cheap ratings hit. It’s all good if she applied like everyone else but I suspect there was more to it than that.
Other game shows have done this. I remember The Price is Right had “Nana Joy”. if you find that on YouTube, it’s some of the most cringe television ever. She had no idea what was going on.

I just watched the episode. It was very cute. Phyllis was great.
Interesting point about this - I have a bunch of extended family who are all watching DOND as well, and not one of them are watching at 6pm - all are recording it to watch later.
I find myself with nothing to watch at 7pm too. After news and awaiting for the 7.30 reality shows to begin.
They should try replay it on Bold at 7pm to see if it gains an audience in this slot.
There’s always Jeopardy on SBS Viceland if you want to watch a quiz show at 7pm
Deal seems to be rating better than what the News (6pm coded portion) was doing last year.
I agree. I think Deal or no Deal will do much better if it were on at 7pm and would help Channel 10’s 7.30pm reality shows with a much better lead-in.
One of the most stupid and cold-hearted posts I’ve ever seen on here. As an older person (not anywhere near Phyllis’s age yet) I could use winning cash gratefully. How do you know she didn’t want to do something for her children or grandchildren?
Very cynical and what if she was brought on differently! She did very well for her advanced age. We don’t need “isms” on here, so cut out the ageism!
She’s not old. At 94, she’s just the average age of your typical game show viewer.
that was elder abuse
How dare people seek a bit of fun and fortune in their old age??
Gee they’re giving some cash away on this show. To think what could have been if 7’s The Price Is Right wasn’t giving away $20 Big W gift cards…
Keep in mind that they are trying to get as many people watching as possible so they’re probably showing a lot of the big winners early on and also chucking extra cash at them for guesses, when the contestant is doing badly. Let’s see if they keep doing it in a couple of months.
I have been told that “Season 2024” will be a total of 200 episodes. They will then reassess and evaluate another season.
Let’s hope that there’s A Megaguess in the 2024 reboot!
Interesting, so 40 weeks if they run with new eps 5 nights a week. Will take them through to first week of November.
There’s still about 6 or so weeks there that they should probably have new content in the 6pm slot so hopefully they just renew it.
They can stretch that to the end of the year with a few Friday repeats thrown into the mix.
Was going to suggest this is likely the best way to see the show span for most of the year.
