Harry Garside was announced this morning as the second competitor for the upcoming season, joining Shaun Micallef.
EDIT: there is an interview with Harry in the Weekend magazines inside Herald Sun and Daily Telegraph today (paywall). His dance partner is Siobhan Power.

I wonder when this season will air though. Last year, it was in July. Perhaps it will air in Q2 in May (after the Easter break in Mid-April)?

Hahahah yes - wish it was back to being Live, but maybe the pre-recorded quicker filming schedule allows them to get bigger names who normally wouldn’t be free for up to 4 months

Yeah I think that is why they can get these names. The trouble with live filming is it becomes a 12-15 week commitment rather than a month.

Season 22, which has nine episodes, will be filmed at Sydney’s Disney Studios from February 15 to March 5. Episode 5 and 6 will be shot back to back on February 25. They are “Kings and Queens of Song & Dance” special episodes, and audience dress-up is required.

Having two episodes of “Kings and Queens of Songs & Dance” might mean that the contestants are still split into two groups at that stage?
Good to have Nine Episodes this time around, compared to only Seven last year, where it was more rushed.

Going live would only add an extra week to the schedule assuming they did 4 weeks of Sun/Mon episodes then a final with both groups together. What might appeal though to “bigger names” signing up is they don’t face the judgement of the public - less damaging to the ego if it’s just a studio audience not voting for you.

But in the past few years the show has gone for 7 weeks on air. When you add a month or so of training before that, it does add up to a lot of time.
Brittany Hockley was revealed as the third celebrity competing in this season.
In the latest episode of The Pick Up show on KIIS, Brittany revealed she received an invitation to take part on DWTS, after posting on her Instagram a funny video of herself and fiance Ben struggling with their wedding dance practice.

The full cast for season 22 will be revealed on Sunrise next week, according to a preview of what’s coming on the breakfast show aired tonight. 12 celebrities will be hitting the dance floor.
