Look it up. But he encouraged some questionable things during the Black Lives Matter protests and said some pretty horrible things. He also was encouraging people not to get vaccinated during the vaccine rollout in the UK. Channel 4 cut ties with him and no one in the UK has touched him since.
Not sure where it was mentioned in a TV dancing competition these people needed to be role models.
Regardless, Ben Cousins is trying to reform his life. That is what we should want for all criminals who have served jail time or otherwise, because…if not, what’s the point?
Nowhere does it say that. Just not sure with all the crisis our country is facing right now with women being murdered by men that Ben Cousins, someone who has stalked and had domestic violence charges against him, gets that second chance at this very moment. Personally, I don’t think it’s a very good look.
But as I said above I understand this casting choice and filming was made some time ago. I still don’t like the look and if 7 wanted to part of solution you wouldn’t be showcasing him.
I also don’t think it matters as 7 have a notorious list of questionable hires on television.
I don’t venture much in the Seven News (Perth) topics, but has there been much talk about Ben Cousins being there as Sports Presenter?
I understand that DWTS is a national show, and needs more “role models” than so called “baddies”. But what is Seven’s obsession with getting these sorts of criminals on their reality shows? First, Schapelle Corby on DWTS, then Cocaine Cassie on SAS, and now Ben Cousins on DWTS.
Saw a new DWTS promo on 7two tonight, focusing on Ben Cousins.
Seems like a missed opportunity to not promote this season recognising the formats’ 20 years. A huge achievement for reality tv.
But it hasn’t been on air all 20 years or even on Seven for all seasons.
Johanna Griggs will have a chat with Hayden Quinn on Better Homes and Gardens next Friday. I wonder if the premiere date will be revealed then?
Depending on Dream Home ratings, the original plan is to have Dancing run alongside The Voice after the Olympics.
I would imagine it would run before the Olympics start and I think I remember the filming was 6 shows so 6 weeks.
There is currently only 7 weeks before the olympics. Could be cutting it very fine.
New AFL-themed promo aired during Collingwood v Melbourne telecast this afternoon, featuring Ben Cousins and Shane Crawford.
Also seen it the past few days in Adelaide, usually when AFL is on.
