I’m so surprised they can pull out a cast this good more than 20 years into the franchise. I know every single one of them - even the sports people. Lisa and Ant are great gets for them, as in Ben. Nadia is sure to generate headlines whether people love or hate her. Can’t wait to see who out of them can actually dance, and I’m even more excited to see which ones of them can’t.
Surprising stars fill the floor

- Tons of musicals given she’s a performing arts actress
So not really a one-hit wonder, even if you think some of the above shows weren’t hits.
A few of Seven’s internal selections are questionable, you wonder if to extract more value out of contracts and/or push their image or shows, such as BH&G’s Adam Doville or H&A’s James Stewart or to a lesser extent SAS’ Ant Middleton.
I get where David was coming from but yeah we have to remember how massive McCune was in the 90s and even early 2000s post her infamous Heelers exit, Logies and other stuff she did for Seven before her Nine era.
From your list, definitely SP and the theatre productions the most notable or known outside Sr Const Maggie Doyle IMO.
It’s going to be impossible for any actor to match Blue Heelers which was the number one show on television for years but she has a strong track record for other television, film and thetere roles.
Lisa is extremely popular and her name attached to a theatre show guarantees big sales in tickets.
Perhaps they should’ve courted Sonia Kruger as a contesta…oh wait.
Good mix of dancers. Probably the only one I’m not fussed about is Nadia Bartel. Thank goodness they didn’t describe her as an influencer. Lisa McCune looks stunning.
Why do I feel like Shane Crawford has been in it before. Prob cause he’s been on every celebrity show in Australia… Next fboy island?
Watching for Lisa McCune alone. In the Blue Heelers days she really was the nation’s sweetheart and I remember the buzz when her character was killed. Excellent cast here
I know Seven is the AFL broadcaster, but thought it was interesting to include 3 people with AFL connections, but no one with NRL connections to increase appeal in the northern states.
4 consecutive Gold Logies is nothing to be sneezed at, and that was in the days before the networks and their social media campaigns for Gold.
But there was that conspiracy theory at the time about her partner owning a newsagency
You trying to be funny again? Give it up, mate.
It’s amazing how that was barely at the turn of the new millennium yet still seems so fresh in memory, even before Sydney 2000 Olympics.
Caroline Craig (Sgt Tess Gallagher), despite her’s and the screenwriters’ best efforts, were never really able to replicate McCune’s aura. They also made Gallagher a higher rank (on par with William McInnes’ Sgt Nick Schultz) which obviously affected character development and storylines. She did go onto some post-Heelers success though, including voice-over artist for Nine’s Underbelly and ads including coincidentally Victoria Police more recently.
Look it up
So owning a newsagency gave him the opportunity to order thousands of copies of TV Week and spend days filling out thousands of Logie Award coupons.
This week’s issue of Who and New Idea magazines both have the line ups of the new season. New Idea apparently got the names from “sources”. I wonder if Seven announced the list last night to prevent the leak?
TV Week has the full cast list too. I’d say Seven had supplied the list to the mags last week.
it was always going to be released last weekend. It got put off a day for Sunrise to get the exclusive.
Nova Peris is an interesting choice. She is chairperson of the Australian Republic Movement with Craig Foster.
