Bowen resident and former mayor of the region Mike Brunker said the message was for people to stay inside — but all morning he’d been watching TV reporters standing out in the wind and rain.

I agree with this article (leading one news website’s headlines).

Journalists aren’t impervious to getting injured? Getting a cold?

Seven & Nine’s ratings battle is 24/7 these days :disappointed:

About 7,000 people watching the Facebook Live video of 7’s coverage at the moment. Good way to get some engagement during the work day.

I’m sure he appreciates your concern.

Public airwaves. it is their duty IMO to do coverage. Just as they should be doing news on weekends and doing election coverage. It really should be mandated as a service. Who cares if others are doing. Blanket coverage is required.

Why send journalists anywhere if that’s your attitude? Definitely don’t send them to war zones because that could be dangerous or to cover famine, overseas natural disasters.

While I agree live crosses are over used in most instances this is providing somewhat of a service (although a bit of the coverage has been a bit disaster porn).

Perfect use of that channel and it means Sky News can continue as normal.

Before they had Tony Auden, from what looked like Brisbane.

Nine just lost the Satellite link to Andrew Lofthouse.

Because it was still morning in Queensland, where the coverage is.
