Got the same network crawlers throughout the night, except it was during Murder Uncovered (time difference).
Perhaps a pre-record from Jenny Woodward?? Seemed vague on the cyclone info.
Here’s a live stream at Midge Point, between Bowen and Mackay.
For those interested in some reporter and presenter locations:
Sunrise has Sam in Townsville, Kochie and Edwina in Bowen and Sam Mac in Airlie Beach. Coastal reporter Paul Burt, Katrina Blowers and Chris Reason are in Bowen, Bianca Stone is in Mackay, Leisa Goddard is at Emergency HQ in Brisbane and Tony Auden is doing crosses from the Brisbane news studio.
Today has Lisa in Townsville, Karl at Emergency HQ in Brisbane, Natalia is in Bowen. Reporters Darren Curtis is in Bowen, Jess Milward and Garry Youngberry are in Airle Beach, Brittney Klein is in Mackay, Rob Morrison is in Ayr and Luke Bradnam is in Townsville.
Many reporters have emphasised they are “safe” despite standing outside in the elements and have done safety plans for them and their respective crews.
Expect coverage to be rolling into the afternoon now with landfall not expected now until 12pm - 2pm.
612 ABC Brisbane was also simulcasting this coverage, so it was Queensland wide broadcast. Kier Shorey the Cairns Breakfast presenter was on-air from 11pm until 4am until Michael Clarke took over for extended Breakfast show from Townsville which I think is/was networked into Cairns as well.
Various updates are coming from Brisbane - as the “Emergency Information Co-Ordinator” for Queensland and Northern Territory, Anne O’Keefe is based there.
hit Mackay is simulcasting hit103.1 Townsville this morning. Triple M appears to be local - not sure if studios have been evacuated or anything.
Edit: Triple M is still ID’ing as “Triple M & hit Mackay”. Could just be a problem with the online streams.
ABC Emergency online stream is now just ABC Tropical North. Unsure if 630 ANC Townsville is taking the same broadcast or if they’ve gone to local programming.

Sam is standing outside the 7 Townsville offices in the city.
Lisa is on The Strand.
There’s no power in the Mackay City at the moment.
Triple M is being run from a backup generator currently, so I’d assume they’ve just got hit simulcasting rather than bothering to put too much load on their generator running a second broadcast?
4TO FM simulcasting on 4GC Charters Towers this morning.
Most likely - wonder how Star & 4MK are both on?
Worth noting some of vision quality of the live crosses is beginning to deteriorate as well. Garry Youngberry on Nine mentioned the wind was so strong they weren’t able to use their portable satellite unit and have had to use mobile phone data to stream video back to the studio. I assume this will be the case for a few of the reporters until the cyclone passes.
Just heard Koshi who is standing in the rain talking to Lauren Marer who is standing in the rain saying he couldn’t believe that people were walking past behind her and that she should tell them to get inside.
