Given all the staff cuts across Broadcasting it will be interesting to see how they handle any issues like long power outages in the future. Gold Coast TV spent a lot of time off air a few months ago because a fuel truck couldn’t get to the Mt Tamborine transmission site. Satellite flyaway kits and such are no use if you don’t have staff left who can set them up either.
Some random thoughts…
The biggest issues that have faced Brisbane stations in the past have tended to relate to flooding.
Low lying AM stations can be vulnerable including notably 4QR at Bald Hills. During one big flood event they kept warning listeners that we might have to tune to 106.1 FM if the transmitter got flooded.
ABC studios have flooded in the past and they have lost phones so they couldn’t effectively use the studios.
4QS on the Darling Downs did get relayed on the RN FM outlet 105.7 at one time; I think that might have related to enhancing their coverage as an emergency broadcaster.
There was also a DAB station set up by ABC to report flooding in 2011.
ABC usually rely on other studios to assist with coverage, so if there is flooding and they can’t use the Brisbane studios, then probably some of the coverage will come from Gold Coast, etc.
This might be the first event where stuff produced out of Syd/Melb/Perth might actually be ok to be not locally produced. Mt Coo-tha looking a bit windswept by saturday!
Some bulletin excerpts from Queensland. The one hour bulletins all had about 25 minutes of coverage including weather and sports cancellations.
Wonder if networks will do a pooled bulletin on Thurs/Friday to save costs amid Alfred
I doubt they would do a shared bulletin - the networks have shown in the past that they have contingency plans, including doing it on location and being controlled interstate, presenting from interstate, etc.

Any attempts to derail it will be seen as wanting a stint on mod queue.
as in a combined bulleting for 10,9 and 7? No never.
May use pooled video though.
Press conference in QLD 10.30am AEST with the premier and Albo.
It’s very golden
Are they using AI to write those? Or are news staff just ignorant?
