1am AEDT/12am AEST was when they went back to Nightlife IIRC
In my tired state this morning, I posted this in the wrong thread.
Point is, shipping in a out of state reporter, despite having local ties (look hard enough and everyone does to some extent) to the area is an interesting approach - Nine seem to have it well covered with their existing Queensland reporters + the Today presenting team.
You just have to look at their 10 way live cross last night and Today bringing in Kendall Gilding in addition to regular reporter Andrea Crothers in Qld etc.
I’d consider him a coastal expert. He’s been reporting it for many many years now.
She was taking care of her mom from what I heard on Nova’s Jase and Lauren yesterday. She didn’t realise the cyclone was on. She came from Melbourne to Brisbane last week.
Find it hard to believe someone like her wouldn’t realise there was a cyclone on the way, but makes sense why she may have been in Qld and has ended up reporting on the coverage.
Whatever happened to axing Paul from 7
NFL Redzone vibes with the octobox
His contract wasn’t renewed before they axed the GC News, it’s a bit different.
Yes it’s interesting that he’s popped up on 7 again, but it’s not that big of a thing really - he’s just being used in a professional capacity given his significant experience.
Seems strange when Nine was promoting him as part of their coverage
Strange, but is this the new normal? Networks don’t mind about presenters crossing between networks? Seems to be happening more and more lately.
Burt’s fishing show still airs on 7mate, also the same with Liz front and centre of 10’s coverage and their weather presenter for Qld but still being seen on 7’s weekend lifestyle series etc.
Davina can’t escape! She’s just too good. Presenting the morning news on location today from Burleigh. Sophie Walsh in the studio.
Interesting to see them do a bulletin fronted by Davina on location, still with the voiceover in the opener and everything.

Then from 1.00pm AEDT, immediately following Seven’s National News at Noon, Michael Usher will anchor 7NEWS rolling coverage live from Brisbane, alongside Seven’s team of expert presenters and reporters stationed right across the region, keeping viewers up to date on critical weather warnings and evacuation information.
That team includes: 7NEWS Queensland anchor Max Futcher in Surfers Paradise, 7NEWS Sydney anchor Angela Cox in Byron Bay, 7NEWS Gold Coast Chief Reporter Amanda Abate, 7NEWS Queensland reporters Marlina Whop in Brisbane, Jordan Quinn in Sandgate, Sam Payne in Redcliffe, Kristina Puljak at Golden Beach, 7NEWS Sydney reporters Bill Hogan in Lismore and Annie Pullar on the Gold Coast.
7NEWS Queensland meteorologist Tony Auden is tracking every development and the latest warnings as they come in, providing critical forecasts and expert analysis on this destructive weather system.
Coverage will continue with Seven’s local afternoon news from 4.00pm across each state, before a special edition of 7NEWS at 6.00pm, extended to 90 minutes across Queensland and NSW, including full reports on the damage Cyclone Alfred has caused so far, as well as the day’s other news.
Michael Usher, Katrina Blowers and Max Futcher will then steer special 7NEWS rolling coverage live from Brisbane, right through the night, as Cyclone Alfred makes landfall and high tide hits.
On Saturday, Weekend Sunrise will broadcast live extended coverage starting from 5.00am AEDT, to be broadcast live into Queensland, with Monique Wright and David Woiwod crossing live to Matt Shirvington on the Gold Coast and Seven’s team of expert reporters across the Queensland and NSW coastline.

Freelancing. Anyone can work anywhere. Like a casual supermarket worker who works at both Coles and Woolworths.
I guess as revenue dwindles and more cuts are made, networks might be relaxing on things like presenters appearing on other networks in exchange for them accepting the cuts to their salaries.
