Have you ever been? It’s gorgeous
Yeah; I watch the Kayo Minis as well when I don’t have the time/interest to watch the whole game or part thereof.
I’ll definitely be visiting Lords when I eventually make it to London; it’s not too far from Abbey Road either so you can cross two landmarks off your list.
Overall, I think that this tournament is a fantastic Cricket World Cup this year.

I liked having the tournament as a single group rather than splitting it up into two groups. This means that every team plays nine matches in the group stage.
-
Mitchell Starc has broken the record of the most wickets in a World Cup. Starc’s 27 wickets surpassed Glenn McGrath’s record of 26 wickets in 2007.
-
Despite playing poorly in the WC, Bangladesh is showing signs of improvement. I think that Bangladesh is showing more stability and they will grow in the next 3 to 4 years. Bangladesh recorded its 2nd highest run chase in World Cup over West Indies.
-
Two hat tricks were taken - Mohammad Shami (IND) and Trent Boult (NZ)
-
Who could not forget Nathan Coulter Nile’s 92 run batting at Number 8 against West Indies.
-
NZ v IND final played in two days during the semi final. Yikes!
-
England deserves the win. They’ve been waiting for 44 years to win their first World Cup trophy. New Zealand have played exceptionally well during the tournament and they have tried their best during the World Cup. Kudos to Kane Williamson (captain of the Blackcaps) for his hard effort and sportsmanship.
The 2019 Cricket World Cup team of the tournament was revealed tonight. The team is:
Jason Roy, Rohit Sharma, Kane Williamson (captain), Joe Root, Shakib Al Hasan, Ben Stokes, Alex Carey (wicketkeeper), Mitchell Starc, Jofra Archer, Lockie Ferguson, Jasprit Bumrah.
What do you think?
Mitchell Starc - deserves to be in The World cup team tournament. Thanks to a blistering bowling attack. He should be number 1.
Shakib ul Hasan - hes an allrounder and can bat and bowl spin.
Which players will be picked for the first ashes test in Edgbaston?
Good move
Still doesn’t address the fact that people are no longer engaged due to some games being on Fox only.
Yep. I’m personally willing to predict that Cricket Australia will be wanting at least some free to air exclusivity with their coverage next time around if they don’t want to risk eventually becoming the next Rugby Union or V8 Supercars (ie, a once fairly mainstream but now mostly niche sport).
Fox Sports’ Tom Morris said on Sportsday on 3AW there would be 15 BBL doubleheaders next season, up from six this season. I think it will mean some doubleheaders will be played on weekdays which could affect Seven’s daytime and primetime schedule.
This is a good start. However, last year I felt the talent was down as well. Which I think led to the decrease in interest.
Given it’s 56 games in 42 days and they won’t be playing on Christmas Day, it goes without saying that there will be 15 doubleheaders.
Agreed. The crowd numbers for 2018-19 was well down from 2017-18 season and tv audiences numbers have dived.
The reason for a shortened BBL season may have to do with Women’s T20 World Cup coming to Australia.
Unless there are more triple games.
England have suffered a setback in its Ashes preparation. They were bowled out for 85 inside 24 overs in their first innings in the four-day test against Ireland at Lord’s today. It was England’s shortest ever test innings at home. The collapse came less than two weeks after winning the Cricket World Cup final at the venue.
Steve Smith And David Warner Will play in the first Ashes test in edgebaston for the first time since the Ball tampering scandal 17 months ago. However Cameron Bancroft is unsure.
If Tim Paine plays, they can’t have Matt Wade in the first test.
Yes they can… he’s more of a specialist batsman these days than a keeper. His selection is based on form with the bat rather than keeping ability.
