That essentially has been them all series long.
Now a run out. 6/81 now with an Injured Stokes batting
Make that 7/84
Not a serious team Iâm afraid.
Theyâve got some decent players - but not enough and there is not enough application.
This isnât a vintage Australian side either.
Yeah agree. I think what Broad said was correct when he said itâs the worst Australian Ashes side in a while (harsh but somewhat accurate) but he was wrong to say itâs the best England side.
Itâs one craptastic squad vs another craptastic squad.
I can just imagine the 150th anniversary test if this is what theyâre going to serve up. ![]()
Decent chance some dead wood gets moved on before then
I should hope so.
Lead of 119 with 2 wickets left as we go to D5
That was the penultimate day of 2025/26 series. Bethell had 142*, meanwhile the rest of EnglandâŚ
4-1 scoreline doesnât seem out of reach, does it?
They could still win, they can defend pretty well especially after the way they played last week I wouldnât be surprised if they still win.
Glad the Renegades won! A six off the last ball!
Itâs been the worst Ashes in possibly forever, from the outset. And arguably one of the worst summer test series in Australia in a long time.
Only saved a bit by this final SCG match (which is quite extraordinary to say), Adelaide and a few notable highlights. Also have liked 7Cricketâs guests/analysts.
I lost count of the number of times Australia lost a test match chasing a target of 150 or lower.
Nevertheless it will be an exciting finish.
Sad to say, but most Ashes series in Australia tend to be ordinary. Other than 2010-11, England havenât really been competitive here, and in that series Australia barely fired a shot. By contrast, England has hosted some really close and gripping series over recent years/decades.
England leads by 159 runs. Australia to bat 11.15am AEDT.
Session 3 is no longer necessary.
Frenetic start, we nearly lost a wicket in the opening delivery!
This test has at least offered something for SCG spectators and TV viewers in recent days, especially after Boxing Day, the early victory result and the wider lacklustre series.
I think it could be remembered for young Jacob Bethell and his century, especially memorable for him with his folks here watching.
I mean probably not but Iâm not sure whatâs to be gained by making these prophetic statements before the game has played out.
I mean, how many hours and overs are required to chase down a target of 159?
Thatâs basically T20 material. Just pointing that out.
What if they lost a few wickets and decide to inch towards the target with singles.
