It’s just (imho) an unusual observation to make alongside giving the score.

Because we know how Kiwis like to pronounce the number “sex”.

I’ve always thought we say it more like “sucks” and Australians say closer to sex…

No short runs either

And no ‘obstructing the field’ dismissals

Any streakers?

Actually, the lack of maximums might be significant given the propensity for T20 like batting in some tests lately.

On unconventional modes of dismissal: I’d like to see the ‘time out’ dismissal applied proactively to penalise slow over rates. If you’re as slow as a @turdall, then the next time you bat you will have a certain number of wickets down before you even start! The batters to be automatically ‘timed out’ should be chosen at random

Poms welcome to Brisbane

Well they didn’t get fined. The idiots would probably be the police for not doing their civic and national duty to piss off the Poms.

SMH reports Cricket NSW has revoked Michael Slater’s life membership, after removing him from Hall of Fame. He became Cricket NSW’s 229th life member in 2016.

Don’t know if this has been posted, but Kayo were handing these out at the 2nd Sydney (Women’s) Smash. I spent 15 minutes at work scanning these in, not knowing that they had a digital copy online. Wish I knew this beforehand…

Perfect if you have people whinging about backyard cricket rules.

NZ/WI’s day 2 just concluded.

WI all out at 167 with 4 ducks (and one out with 1 run after 2 balls).

NZ trying to extend its lead with 32 runs so far.

And AU delays naming Ashes team until toss tomorrow.

Now I’m interested.

Such an unbelievable fall from grace, hard to believe he was a prominent figure on Nine and then Seven’s coverage for many years

Australia’s playing XI excludes Cummins. Well, that wait was anti-climactic.

And England lost two wickets in two overs. I can sense another two-dayer incoming.

Meanwhile WI will try to lessen the loss to NZ when their 2nd innings starts tomorrow. It will be an extremely steep battle being down 550+ runs.

The Latham-Ravindra partnership lasted 54 overs and reached 321 runs before the former was dismissed.

I suspected that would happen.. there was no need to risk him if he wasn’t quite 100%.

England notched 2-98 in the opening session.

To put that in perspective, they had 4-105 in the opening session of Perth test.

The Poms improved as this afternoon progressed, ended up with a solid partnership. Gabba pitch seems markedly better than Optus’. Let’s see how Session 3 goes.

These pink ball tests need an asterisk against them.
Not sure why the ICC continues to allow a pink ball so different to the red traditional ball.
