Yeah it’s rather apparent that the floodgates have been opened for T20 cricket on what is an official international match. Basically any match between ICC members. So a match between Ukraine and Serbia would be for example.

I think the ICC have basically given every nation that can distinguish the game from the insect T20 status. I wouldn’t be surprised if a team of scientists (plus a few penguins) turn out for Antarctica.

England have named their squads to New Zealand and Australia (Ashes) later this year. Five players will be making their first Ashes tour: Jofra Archer, Matthew Potts, Gus Atkinson, Brydon Carse and Josh Tongue. Harry Brook replaces Ollie Pope as vice-captain.

Farcical scenes at the Asia Cup post-match presentation in Dubai, following India’s five wicket win over Pakistan. Indian players refused to accept the trophy from Asian Cricket Council president Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Interior Minister of Pakistan. The players however did receive individual medals from other dignitaries on stage.

While I’m mindful that entering into the India v Pakistan conflict is about as fraught with danger as dabbling in or commenting on Israel v Palestine, you’d have to think the behaviour of some here does seem a little childish for professionals such as these guys.

Australia beat New Zealand by six wickets in the series-opening men’s T20I.

On Friday, rain delayed the toss by 30 minutes at Tauranga’s Bay Oval, then returned before the players could take the field.
The match finally started at 6:30pm AEST with nine overs per side, but only 13 balls were bowled when the inclement weather returned.
Travis Head was the only wicket to fall, dismissed for five runs after he hit a Jacob Duffy delivery to Devon Conway at backward point.
In the women’s World Cup, England bowled out South Africa for 69 in the 21st over, the Proteas’ second-lowest total at a 50-over World Cup. England reached their target in 14.1 overs.

Mitchell Marsh starred again with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 103 to help Australia to a three wickets win over NZ in the third and final T20 Match tonight. The Black Caps were restricted to 9/156 from 20 overs, before the Aussies reached the target with two overs to spare.
Marsh was named player of the match and series, as Australia won the series 2-0. Marsh became the fifth Australian male player to score a century in all three forms of international cricket.
Cricket Australia announced today that public ticket allocation for the Australia v India T20 match at the MCG on October 31 had been exhausted.
It will be very busy in Melbourne CBD with Oasis performing at Marvel Stadium at the same time.

The squads for Australia v India T20 and ODI were revealed yesterday.
And finally, Cricket Australia announced on social media this morning that the Cricket 26 video game would be released on November 20, just a week from the start of the Ashes test series.

The cricket games from the developer Big Ant has been generally good but their other games like AFL 23, 26 & Rugby 25 & Rugby League 26 have all been pretty disappointing with the launch product. So will be interesting to see if the cricket game is any better
