BIG win to the Thunder tonight over the Scorchers (7/158 v 97).

The margin of the victory/loss has sent the Thunder from 3rd to 1st on the ladder, and the Scorchers from 6th to last.

MS point of interest re Scorchers, they liked same digit scores tonight - they were 0/0, 2/22, 4/44, 5/55, 6/66 and 7/77 during their innings.

With this upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. What makes no sense to me is why are they only playing a solitary One Day International. But it would be cool if they donned these kits for it.

It’s for the championship trophy. Which SL aren’t in. So that’s probably why it’s 1

The World Championship of Cricket was a great little event, to coincide with the celebration of Victoria’s 150th Anniversary. The MCG had just installed brand new lights and the original plan was for all games to be played there, but for some scheduling reason a few had to be hosted at the SCG.

Seven greatest teams on earth, it’ll be the greatest show on turf!

Nice to see NewsTalk 2GB 87 had cricket commentary. Wow. I wonder what other stations covered the cricket back then.

C’mon Strikers, beat those Sixers.

Hope the Strikers slaughter the Sydney Sixers…hate he Sixers :stuck_out_tongue:

Was last night… Strikers lost, but was a close one.

Sixers had a bit of luck with skied balls just clearing/missing the fielders.

But also had some bad luck. Mo being adjudicated out LB even though it fair whacked his bat.

The sixers are pretty amazing. And Lachlan Shaw was spectacular in the field.

Yes, but that’s what happens when you burn a DRS review the over before! (which was marginal, and that’s not what it’s for).

Agree the Sixers fielded very well.

It was a fire at the DJ booth on level 3 at the School End of The Gabba. Some spectators had to be evacuated.
