The 16-man Australian squad for the two-test series in Sri Lanka has been announced.
Itâs the worst thing ever for cricket seeing that smug charlatan captaining again.
Itâs really not.
Travis Head should be captain.
Boland.
So the last placed Stars have beaten the top of the table Sixers (MS 5/156 vs SS 9/140).
This is looking like a pretty even and open BBL season to me.
A couple of seagulls the only collateral damage.
Yes. Very even comp this year.
Youâd think after that, the rest of the flock of seagulls⌠would run⌠so far away.
They got their revenge, caused Duckett to drop a sitter after that.
Eat shit Sixers.
I think weâll probably look back on this time in Australian cricket history and cringe.
Why on earth are we sending our players out to the middle wearing clown outfits? No one else in the world does it. Even Aotearoa doesnât make their Super Smash players wear aboriginal designs. Indeed, the Kiwis look quite resplendent in their pin-stripes for retro round. Meantime we are just a laughing stock.
Whatâs wrong with the Indigenous gear? There have been some cracking designs across all sports based upon the Indigenous background of their area.
Who cares what the MÄori do? If they chose not to mark it in that way, thatâs their decision.
Warriors do Pasifika gear - do you rip shit on them?
Should we not acknowledge that we have a history pre-1788? If this how theyâre doing it, fine.
I understand what youâre saying. And yes, the odd indigenous design every now and then is fine. But not every game.
We just need to be a lot more mature about it. Thatâs one thing with having Davey Warner as captain this season. He takes it seriously. We may not have invented the game of T20, but we sure as hell can learn a thing or two from those who did across the Tasman.
Time to grow up. Take the game seriously and stop wearing the childish, finger-painting, garish garb that the players are currently forced to.
Otherwise weâll end up like basketball.
Firstly, I am sorry you have such backwards views.
Secondly, how serious you play is not directly correlated to the uniform you wear.
Because New Zealand has a major issue getting Maori and Pasifika people playing mainstream cricket. Wearing their cultureâs designs would be disingenuous.
A sport that isnât in an almost-terminal death spiral?
Sounds like the person who needs to grow up is you.
You do realise the âchildish, finger-painting, garish garbâ might actually mean something to the designers? Or the clubs? Or their fans? Or the community? They donât just throw something together. I dare you to go and say that to them in person.
I can tell you, they donât wear that every game. Probably arenât allowed to.
Go and read some of the backgrounds behind the designs AND the designers.
Iâll even help you with both the NBL (in particular the 36ers one) and (W)BBL.

And they arenât adopting it permanently. Itâs only for a few games.
Because itâs an acknowledgement of the countryâs traditional owners.
Funny how Belong is the major sponsors of the sixes but unusable at the sixes home ground. Using wifi nowđ.
