Shane Warne’s death certificate shows his cause of death as coronary artery atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is the build up of plaque within the heart causing the narrowing or complete blockages of arteries, which can result in a heart attack.
Very embarrassing loss for Australia. Changes are required for the next test.
If Starc is fit then he’d replace Boland. Hopefully Cam Green will be able to play and bring Travis Head back in, those two can replace Handscomb and Renshaw. Warner and Khawaja need to prove themselves in the next test otherwise I’d be dropping one of them and trialling Alex Carey opening and bringing in an extra batter down the order.
Agree re Head and Green, but i would go for Hazlewood ahead of Starc.
AUS will need to play two specialist spinners so Lyon and Murphy would stay, they wouldn’t play 3 pace bowlers as well as Green.
Handscomb deserves to be dropped why?
Because Head and Green are better. Head might not have a good record in India but he deserves a spot in the XI after his great performance during the home summer.
Aren’t they both left handers?
Handscomb is a right hand bat.
Yeah I meant Green and Head. If you drop Handscomb you have essentially all your batters left handed.
Labuschange and Smith are right handers, so is Cameron Green.
And Handscomb was one of four batters to actually show something right? Hasn’t done anything to warrant losing his spot. Renshaw can go though.
Theres still some conjecture whether Hazlewood is fit enough - I’d also be concerned he has little form given he’s been injured for most of the summer
The third test between India and Australia has been moved from Dharamsala to Indore.
Let the indoor cricket jokes begin!
Australia has won the toss and elected to bat, with Renshaw dropped for a returning Travis Head, while Matt Kuhnemann replaces Boland in the XI, making his Test debut.
How many is that in a row now? It’s like the opening scene of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead:
ROS: Heads.
(He picks it up and puts it in his money bag. The process is repeated.)
Heads.
(Again.)
ROS: Heads.
(Again.)
Heads.
(Again.)
Heads.
GUIL (flipping a coin): There is an art to the building up of suspense.
ROS: Heads.
GUIL (flipping another): Though it can be done by luck alone.
ROS: Heads.
GUIL: If that’s the word I’m after.
ROS (raises his head at GUIL): Seventy-six love…
Phew (after the DRS) for David Warner.
I’ve just looked back and it’s now 8 tosses in a row for Australia in tests (didn’t look at ODIs or T20s). I wonder what the record is?
Australia last lost the toss in the 1st test against Sri Lanka which commenced June 29 2022.
(Miscounted, I thought we played 4 tests against South Africa).
Tried to find somewhere to watch the Test here in Hawaii with no luck, not that was very hopeful anyway.
Tried connecting via VPN to watch it on Kayo but the VPN doesn’t seem to want to connect either. Local streaming via ESPN+ is US$10 pm.
Will have to make do with web blogs for now,
Can see the Aussies have made a good start at 1/77, will probably surpass their last score with only 1 down!
Oh dear. I spoke too soon.
Look forward on your radio report from Hawaii @Radiohead. Abc local radio should be ok to listen with no vpn.
Since getting Kayo I haven’t had to delve into the world of the ‘unofficial’ streams but I’m sure they are still around.
In the 2019 Ashes I managed to subscribe to Willow TV via Sling using a US VPN; this might be an option if they’re carrying it (maybe not, since you mention ESPN). I did this because Nein didn’t offer the ability to replay the day’s play (Kayo offers it for every sport). May have to look at doing it again if Nein Now doesn’t come to the party.***
At the moment you have the bizarre situation where Kayo can broadcast the home Ashes series but not the ones in England.
***I’m sure it will be a big fat NEIN on this score.
