I still think that should be played in India or Pakistan, their home fans deserve to see them the most.
It was only because the Sunday night game was part of a World Cup, it doesn’t mean they should start playing more games here.

England might beat us to it.
Why are these countries not playing more cricket against one another? Surely you can’t have a rivalry that is so strong that you just hardly ever play.
This was from September and the PCB rejected the proposal. Apparently India wouldn’t have agreed to a match in England had the PCB offered.
When does India tour Australia next? Maybe a match could be slotted in after/before?
Have a read:
All for it, don’t get me wrong I support Australia but it would be a nice change for International teams to play here over Summer, grow the game and the cultural community at the same time.
Australia registered its first win of the tournament, beating Sri Lanka by 7 wickets with 21 balls to spare in Perth. After Sri Lanka made 157, Australia got off to a shaky start. However Marcus Stoinis was able to guide Australia home, smashing 59 off just 18 balls.
On social media, many fans were critical of Aaron Finch’s slow batting (31 from 42 balls), and urged him to drop out of Australia’s crucial match against England on Friday.
Today the MCG is scheduled to host a rare cricket double header: England v Ireland at 3pm then Afghanistan v New Zealand at 7pm. However weather will have a big say with showers forecast for most of the day.
That’s slow even by 50 over standards.
Ireland have caused a massive upset over england beating them by 5 runs (DLS method) at the MCG. After Ireland made 157 off 19.2 overs, England got off to a shocking start with Jos Buttler dismissed for a duck. The run rate slowly climbed during the 9th over with Harry Brook taking the role. After the 14.3 over, rain fell again. Unfortunately the rain continued falling and England were unable to complete the innings.
It was Ireland’s first t20 victory in the southern hemisphere.
It was also Ireland’s third win over England in all forms of cricket. Ireland previously defeated England in the 2011 Cricket World Cup, and in a ODI clash at Southampton in 2020.
Ireland’s first game at the MCG?
Unless they played there in 2015?
EDIT: They did not. Yes, this is their first match at the 'G!
They won 2 matches in Tasmania to get to the Super 12.
Luck O’ the Irish indeed; England were five runs adrift of their DLS target after 14 overs. Must admit I love a good Irish (or Scottish) victory.
This will probably benefit Australia the most as far as advancement goes. Speaking of lucky breaks, Australia has won just about every toss lately; I can’t remember the last time we had to bat first. Surely this luck has to run out at some point (but then again, this anomaly may mirror the current tropical rainforest weather anomaly).
This made me laugh today
We should probably point out that Australia got very lucky today due to the fact that England didn’t win and Newzealand only got half points.
South Africa has registered its first win after smashing Bangladesh by 104 runs at the SCG this afternoon. After SA made 5/205 off 20 overs, it was Bangladesh turn to bat. Bangladesh started off well in the first two overs, but wickets started falling. South Africa never recovered and were all dismissed in 16.3 overs.
