That tweet was incorrect, today’s games were on 7mate, not 7.
I think the tweet is referring to the Seven Network, which includes main channel and 7mate.
In that case, they should have referred to it as Seven Network, as that is more likely to infer an overarching view inclusive of its multi channels than just Seven.
A lot of viewers will be confused and not realise in that case that Seven might mean 7mate.
The winners and finalists in the Middle East automatically advance to the Super 12s for 2022 along with the next six highest-ranked teams.
Australia sit seventh in the International Cricket Council’s T20 table with 240 points, just six clear of two-time world champions the West Indies in ninth.
Fans generally purchase tickets for World Cup matches months in advance but could have just a few days’ notice as it would not become apparent when Australia would play until the first round is over.
Organisers would also lose control of where to fixture the hosts, possibly resulting in the drawcard side playing away from the major venues.
Don’t they qualify for it as the host nation (obviously this year was different)?
Oman are one of two co-hosts for this year’s T20 World Cup but have to finish first or second in their preliminary group to advance to the main draw (Super 12). If Australia can’t advance beyond Super 12 in this year’s tournament, they will be in a similar position as Oman in 2022.
Yeah I know but this year India are the hosts, but the matches are being held in UAE and Oman. Like I said this year is different.
Feels weird that we are talking about Australia in the same league as Oman in that sense!
There’s an Aus V NZ warm-up match being shown exclusively right now.
On Kayo it was.
What a great innings from ex NZ international player Rachel Priest in the WBBL.
Playing for the Hobart Hurricanes against the Melbourne Stars, Priest scored 107 not out from 68 balls which included 10 fours & 7 sixes. Particularly when you consider the Hurricanes scored 4/152 from their 20 overs.
Irish fast bowler Curtis Campher took four wickets in four balls in his team’s six wicket victory over Netherlands in the T20 World Cup last night. He became only the third player in history (after Lasith Malinga and Rashid Khan) to take a double hat trick in Twenty20 internationals.
Saw this said a few times in response to this - but it’s a double hat trick.
The two hat tricks,
W W W W
W W W W
There’s not another 3 wicket in a row sequence in the over.
I’ve never heard anyone other than Australians use that term.
Reminds me of double eagle in golf.
isn’t that albatross in golf terms, aka getting it one shot earlier than the eagle.
I suppose unlike the weird ‘double eagle’ there’s not a widely used different term for it, but yeah, it does seem to be an Australianism, like writing the score backwards.
Yeah same thing. Americans say double eagle and everyone else albatross
I’ve never liked that term - a double hat trick to me implies 6 wickets in 6 balls (3 x 2).
I dunno what else to call 4 wickets in 4 balls though - a sombrero trick?
Hopefully we’ll never need a term for 5 wickets in 5 balls or greater.
I call it a fourtrick
