Would anyone happen to have a list of 7 and Fox’s (or anyone else) commentators/hosts for this and the last few summers? Or know where I can find one?

As such, my one network dream team (out of those who have worked on 7, 9, 10 or Fox) (no particular order):

Tests:

Hosts/Roving Reporters

Extra hosts and roving reporters, like Emma Vosti on Seven or Ian Healy in this clip.

Ball-by-Ball Commentators

Analysts

  • Trent Copeland (Expert Analyst, mostly bowling)
  • Michael Hussey (Expert Analyst, mostly batting)
They would use a virtual studio, similar to Fox’s ‘The Lab’, to analyse, point things out, ‘face’ balls, etc.
  • Simon Taufel (Umpire Expert Analyst)
Crossed to to explain umpiring decisions, as is done on Seven’s coverage this season.

Expert Commentators

International Commentators

Commentators for other countries would be included.

If there are 90 overs in a day, then, with 5/6 Ball-by-Ball Commentators, I’d have them rotate every 10-ish overs, with the rotation going between days. The experts could rotate on different intervals.

I would have a roster like this: Ball-by-Ball (‘Local’ or International), Expert Commentator and International Expert Commentator/‘Local’ Expert (3 commentators). There would always be two ‘local’ commentators (Mark Nicholas, Isa Guha and Alison Mitchell count as ‘local’).

At lunch/tea/dinner, there would be a Host, Expert and International or another Expert (3 panelists) talking about the preceding cricket.

For pre-/post-day, I’d have two panels of 3 (Panel 1: Host, Expert, International/Expert. Panel 2: Host, Expert, Expert.). They would set up similar to how Seven has done the Sydney Test. One panel would be on the ground (post-COVID)/in the commentary box, and the other in the stands/the studio. They would debate/etc. amongst themselves then pass to the others, then back, etc.

Brian Lara is the best international commentator out there. Hands down. One of my favourite players to play cricket.

Solid win to the mighty Thunder! Good win on the bounce after losing to the Heat.

Melbourne Renegades ended their losing streak tonight, beating the Strikers by six wickets with one ball to spare at Adelaide Oval in a stunning upset. The turning point was when the Renegades bowlers put on the brakes in the final six overs of the Strikers’ innings, claiming 6/48 after the home side was 1/129 at the end of 14 overs.

News Corp reports tonight that BCCI has written to Cricket Australia saying it doesn’t want the fourth test to be played in Brisbane, because of fears the mutant strain of COVID-19 virus could jeopardise their forthcoming series against England at home.

Play was stopped for 10 minutes during today’s play as Mohammed Siraj complained to the umpires about the abuse from the crowd.

Gabba will be at half capacity for the next test. Mask to be worn on public transport to the game.

Some controversy today over the actions of Steve Smith.

I don’t know why the guards aren’t painted on the crease.

It would save all this time they spend scratching around for a guard.

They would get rubbed off like the crease.

WE HAVE A DRAW!!!

India fought out a courageous draw with a hamstrung Vihari and Ashwin holding the Aussie bowlers at bay for more than 3 hours. It was a costly draw for Australia, dropping four catches in the second innings, and with debutant Will Pucovski injuring his shoulder while fielding. Pucovski is now in doubt for the next test in Brisbane, where the series will be on the line. India only needs a draw to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Australia (which hasn’t lost at The Gabba for 30 years) simply have to win.

They only get rubbed off because players are endlessly scratching their guards there!

They can also repaint them before the start of play each morning too.
