Its part of the Womens Championship so we have to play every other team in it anyway. Sri Lanka have won 1 out of 15 ODI’s and are clearly last but they wont improve much playing against Zimbabwe, Ireland etc

Only India and England of those are any good anyway.
Series like this one should be openly encouraged, SL were pretty good in at least the first game.

T20s have nothing to do with the ICC Championship

But it’s not the same as playing for their national team. And is it financially viable for that to occur? Still not a lot of money in women’s sports for players travelling the world.

Except that they do. The Women’s ICC Championship is a 4 year long ODI event that also doubles as a direct qualifier for the 2021 Women’s ODI World Cup. This is why pretty much every women’s series is best of 3. The ICC wants any additional matches played as T20I’s.
Each team plays 18 matches (6 series of 3).
Sri Lanka are last.
Lost every match to Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, England. Lost to India 2-1. Didn’t play New Zealand. 3 games versus Australia are upcoming. They move onto the next qualifying round for the World Cup from here.

Not going to do much for their development running out drinks and sitting on the bench behind top line English/Aussie/Carribbean players who would comprise the foreign quota in such leagues.

D’Arcy Short and Marcus Stoinis are among six players who miss out on a spot.

Today (October 9) Australia thrashed Sri Lanka by nine wickets in the third and final ODI at Brisbane today, setting a new world record of consecutive ODI wins (18) by a national women’s team.

I watched the sydney sixers and Thunder WBBL match on 7 and noticed that they are wearing magenta and electric green pants respectively. Last season they wore their black trousers but this season they have gone into coloured tracksuits.

Why are you watching their pants? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Chris Lynn, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Dan Christian and Adam Zampa were also picked up in the men’s draft, while Australian women’s captain Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy and Sophie Molineux were drafted in the women’s competition.

Wonder how we will be able to see this. Some good money involved there.

Reckon Fox Cricket will try to pick up the rights to fill its winter schedule.

I hope we get to see it here in some form or other.

Are the T20 internationals only on Fox? I thought only one day games were exclusive.

Yes, T20s weren’t on free to air last year.
