This is maybe paid by the council of churches, I found it interesting they can’t escape this. 2sm had some religious obligations back in the early 80s and before but no longer have that “obligation”. Perhaps it’s good money , I didn’t think it was related to condition of sale when SEN purchased the station. Or maybe it was?

I think you’re right. The 2CH Sunday night vaguely religious show has survived many ownership changes. I enjoyed the Kel Richards version about a decade ago.
It’s nice that SEN have Track to put the cricket on, just seems strange that they bother starting the cricket on their main Sydney frequency at all.

I think there was meant to be top end tests vs Afghanistan in the previous FTP. The March 2027 tests vs Bangladesh was rescheduled to August 2026, those could be played Darwin & maybe Cairns

The ABC commentary mentioned the sheer lack of test cricket for South Africa this year. Without looking at the schedule (which I probably should) it is a shame we can’t get a couple of tests squeezed in especially, after the world cup lost against South Africa in the UK.
South Africa off to England next month for a limited overs tour.
This current series is already pushing severe irrelevance.

Yeah it is unfortunate, it is about money not about ensuring the higher tier cricketing nations all play a similar number of tests matches against each other. Sorry I have woken up now 
South Africa as a nation has issues financially so it may explain it as well to some extent.
Unfortunately not how things work, and yeah they don’t have any home Tests this upcoming summer.

Australia prioritizes Test Cricket at home, because it pulls in the crowds, but its becoming a dying format in many markets where the shorter form is a lot more attractive.

Stuart Broad headlines SEN team for Ashes and summer of cricket
Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is thrilled to announce its commentary team for the 2025-26 Australian summer of cricket, headlined by the arrival of a legendary English voice.
There is no bigger summer of cricket than an Ashes summer, so it is fitting that one of the names most synonymous with Ashes cricket – in his native England, but also in Australia – in Stuart Broad. One of England’s most decorated fast bowlers with 604 Test wickets, Broad will be joining SEN’s commentary team for the first time. Known for his fierce Ashes battles and tactical insight, Broad brings a wealth of experience and charisma to the mic.
“I’ve always loved the theatre of the Ashes, and I’m excited to bring that passion to the commentary box with SEN,” Broad said. “Australia is a special place to play cricket, and I can’t wait to be part of the summer from the other side of the boundary.”
SEN will broadcast all five Ashes Tests live, starting with the First Test at Perth’s Optus Stadium from November 21. This series promises to be one of the most anticipated in recent memory, as Australia looks to retain the urn on home soil.
The Ashes Test series won’t be the only international cricket that can be heard across the network this summer, with two white ball series against India also broadcast by SEN. The Aussie will take on India in a three-match ODI series, also beginning in Perth on October 19, followed by a five-match T20I series, kicking off at Canberra’s Manuka Oval on October 29.
In addition to the international fixtures, SEN will deliver live coverage of every match of the men’s Big Bash League (BBL). The BBL|15 season features 44 games, commencing off with the opening clash between rivals the Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars on December 14.
Along with Broad, SEN’s Test commentary team throughout the summer will feature a familiar and knowledgeable line-up of cricket experts and broadcasters, including Gerard Whateley, Bharat Sundaresan, Ian Healy, Lisa Sthalekar, Damien Fleming, Simon Katich, Adam Collins and Tom Morris.

Yeah, no SEN coverage of the 3rd T20. Probably spread too thin on commentators with four AFL games and an NRL game to call that day.

Looks like SEN won’t broadcast the ODI series between Australia and South Africa.
There is nothing in the broadcast guide about the first match in Cairns which starts this afternoon.
