SEN announces commentary team for Australia’s Test Tour of Sri Lanka

Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is excited to announce the line-up for its comprehensive coverage of Australia’s upcoming two-match Test series in Sri Lanka.

The first Test commences on Wednesday, January 29, followed by the second Test beginning on February 6, with each Test match to air in prime time from 3pm to 11pm AEDT.

Both Tests in Galle will be broadcast live nationally on all SEN sport stations, as well as SEN Sync, providing a premium broadcast experience for fans at home.

SEN’s commentary team for the series will include Adam Collins, Tom Morris, Simon Katich, Bryce McGain, Bharat Sundaresan, Russel Arnold and Peter Lalor.

Adam Collins shared his excitement, saying; "It’s a privilege to lead SEN Cricket back to Sri Lanka after our eventful fortnight in Galle in 2022.

"The cricket in this part of the world is often unrelenting and rarely predictable – the best type of series to plug into hour after hour.

“As has been the case for 66 Tests across seven countries since 2018 on SEN, we’ll have you covered no matter where you are.”

Following its successful debut during the 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar Test Series between Australia and India, ‘The New Ball’ will also return, hosted by Tom Morris and Bharat Sundaresan. The show will air from 2pm to 3pm AEDT every day of the Test, as well as the day before each Test.

SEN CEO, Craig Hutchison added, “We are thrilled to bring every moment of this exciting Test series to our listeners. Our commentary team is world-class, and we are committed to delivering the best cricket coverage this summer.”

Note: Simon Katich and Adam Collins will also be part of Seven’s commentary team for the test series.

Looks like the ABC is taking the Australia-Sri Lanka test series as well- coverage on digital radio and the ABC Listen app according to their live sport on radio guide.

This is really good news. Having two radio networks and a Seven is good for cricket. SEN has been a good thing as I think they help to ensure ABC will follow to also bring the cricket. If SEN wasn’t doing it, I would guess ABC wouldn’t cover it other than England / maybe India.

I wonder if they are all physically in Sri Lanka?

Most likely off the tube, in Sydney.

Andrew Moore et al. often call rugby league matches off the tube in the boardroom at ABC HQ in Ultimo, so this could be a similar set up.

Sounds like SEN has a team there.

Definitely in Sydney - Peter Lalor mentioned it on the Cricket Et Al podcast the other day

This group photo was taken after Australia’s big win over England tonight. Missing from the photo was Alex Hartley who was on the field chatting with Channel Seven commentators as well as doing a live cross to TNT Sports back in the UK.

Yeah , they were talking about the overheating of equipment there etc. So definitely they are physically there.

For the second test this week, Ed Cowan replaces Jason Gillespie as expert commentator.

Also, Corbin Middlemas revealed at the end of this week’s episode of Grandstand Cricket Podcast that the ABC has acquired radio rights to the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan and UAE, as well as the World Test Championship final between South Africa and Australia in London in June.

I believe no SEN coverage this time.

Good that there’s some radio coverage as I can’t be bothered forking out for Amazon Prime for this tournament, most of which is being played overnight anyhow.

SEN announces WTC Final and West Indies Tour broadcasts

Sports Entertainment Network’s (SEN) commitment to cricket is set to continue, with the confirmation that SEN will be broadcasting the upcoming ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final, as well as the upcoming Australian Men’s Test tour of the West Indies.

SEN’s broadcast of both the WTC Final and the Test tour of the West Indies will be presented thanks to its major cricket partner, Henley Homes, with the support also of Tyrepower and imar insurance.

SEN will be broadcasting live from the famed Lord’s cricket ground as Australia takes on South Africa in the ICC’s showpiece Test cricket event from June 11 to 15.

Adam Collins and Damien Fleming will lead SEN’s commentary team on the ground from Lord’s, and will be joined by Bharat Sundaresan, Jeremy Coney and Daniel Norcross.

The WTC broadcast will continue SEN’s impressive run in broadcasting Australian men’s Test cricket, with the WTC Final marking the 49th consecutive Test featuring the Australian men that has been broadcast live across the SEN network.

SEN is also thrilled to announce that their commentary team will be travelling to the West Indies to cover Australia’s three Tests in the Caribbean, running from June 26 through to July 17.

Collins and Sundaresan will lead the team in the commentary box, with the remaining members of the line-up to be announced shortly.

SEN can also announce that the popular cricket program, ‘The New Ball’, will be returning to the airwaves, delivering all the cricket ‘good oil’ thanks to Cobram Estate. ‘The New Ball’ will be returning ahead of each day’s play of the WTC Final, as well as throughout Australia’s West Indies Test tour.

The northern hemisphere’s summer of cricket comes ahead of what will be a blockbuster Australian summer of cricket in 2025/26, featuring another much-anticipated Men’s Ashes series. Now in year two of SEN’s seven-year broadcast rights agreement with Cricket Australia, SEN’s CEO, Craig Hutchison, said his network’s commitment to making international cricket as accessible to fans as possible was now more evident than ever.

“Our dedication to bringing the best of international cricket to fans is unwavering. Broadcasting the WTC Final and the Australian Men’s Test tour of the West Indies underscores our commitment to making cricket accessible and engaging for everyone. We are thrilled to continue this journey and look forward to an exciting summer of cricket in both the northern and southern hemispheres.”

SEN’s coverage of the WTC Final and Australia’s Test tour of the West Indies can be heard across SEN’s network of radio and digital platforms.
