COVID-19: Melbourne/Greater Victoria Re-Opens

The message can’t also indicate a time ‘most likely 12am’. That’s one of the first things the cabinet meeting would come to, a date and time.

Also goes against the commentary in the last two days of specific areas, not overdoing areas that don’t need it.

Would be out of left field for the whole state to go under. Goes against what he has been saying.

Unfortunately 7 News and the Australian have picked up the story.

Or they’re waiting for it to be confirmed and not spreading rumours.

that would have to be a first but then they have annouced things in the paper at like 5am that morning though

Sending areas like Mornington into Stage 4 is just stupid considering the next to no active cases. That’s exactly what he talked about today. It’s just crippling the economy for no reason. Parts of regional Victoria have no active cases at all. Stage 3 just pointless.

thats why on thursday he announced the no family and friends restrictions for the geelong coridor so bussiness can still stay open and face masks for all regional vic on monday so the economy can stay open

for someone like me with menatal illeness i wish he would stick to one thing and if he says hes supporting regional vic then still support it and dont let it go into stage 3. when these so called leaks are leaked and see on the like of twitter it can and does flair up my anxiety esp about the so called stage 3 for regional vic

Twitter is probably not a good place to be when considering mental health. I know I try to keep away from Twitter particularly during the mornings because the ongoing speculation about new case numbers and restrictions can be a trigger.

it appears that they are going by that leaked text message and splashing it on its front page.

It doesn’t confirm anything but just repeats the speculation.

Wait till tomorrow.

What would you call someone who drives from Melbourne to Wodonga to get a Big Mac or to Ballarat for fresh air?

Lying.

Speaking of lies, pretty obvious said text message is bunkum:

Well dickhead :stuck_out_tongue: Not disputing that they are dickheads. For a journalist to use that word in a professional setting to post statistics, it’s well you know… not professional.

This forum would be up and arms if a liberal journalist from Sky-news used the Dickhead word in any other setting… Come on. You can’t have it both ways, one for use some and half baked cake for others. Just saying…

I’d expect any employee of mine to reserve from posting that word on twitter, any kind of foul word that could bring my company in a bad light. It’s not what you want your band to be tarnished with.

In the context of Twitter I think it’s fine, elsewhere obviously not.

Fair enough. As someone who’s had to develop social media policies, it was important that we be consistent with the companies values and in that regard when tweets had to be submitted, they would be judged on accordance to the rules - foul language and dickhead was one of them :P.

I guess depends who you work for and what their rules of social media posting is.

This. :+1: Too much speculation going around. It feels like the same things that we were hearing 2 weeks ago.

Geez this headline doesn’t even tell us anything. They are just fuelling speculation of what could be. We all know they are discussing potential further restrictions that will likely be announced tomorrow. Dan said that today. Let’s just wait and see…

A stage 4 lockdown will have to take in to account hundreds of thousands of people like me who are already working from home. Can we still work remotely?

Of course. Why wouldn’t you be able too? You are home… No further restriction is going to change that.
